Hello, hello!

Saskatoon is throwing down the gauntlet and challenging Montana to a Word War. We have several unique awards that will be given out at the end of November, but I will allow James to do the honours for that, later on in this thread. (That's your cue, James!)

In addition to the regions going up against each other, I am hereby challenging the MLs of Montana, Kay Erickson and Julie., to individual word wars. We can watch the regional progress in our regional headers; we can watch me kick the other MLs' butts in this post. ;)

Let the taunting begin!

Current Status:

**This thread is posted in both the Saskatoon forum and the Montana forum. Through the magic of this post, people from one region may easily taunt people from the other region without needing to affiliate with the enemy. How's that for snazzy?**

Hi! I’m James, Saskatchewan’s (self-appointed) International Ambassador. Welcome to the 2009 Incredible International Challenge. Thanks for throwing down the gauntlet, Karalianne.

In keeping with ancient traditions from times long forgotten (2003), participating regions contend for five awards.*

  • The "We Are The Champions" Award goes to the region with the most winners.
  • The "We Are Also The Champions" Award goes to the region with the highest percentage of winners (take the number of winners and divide by the number of people who signed up and posted a word count).
  • The "Carpal Tunnel Award" goes to the region that writes the most words in total.
  • The "Loquacious Grandeur Award" goes to the region with the highest average number of words written (take the total words written and divide by the number of people who signed up and posted a word count).
  • The "Everybody Gets An Award" Award goes to any region who has not already won an award. In the spirit of Nanowrimo, every region who participates will be a winner!

Bonus awards! (introduced in 2008)*

  • The "Wasting Time Like Crazy Award" goes to the region with the most posts.
  • The "We Also Be Wasting Time Like Crazy Award" goes to the region with the most posts per author.
  • The "We`re Not Old, We`re Experienced Award" goes to the region with the earliest average join date.
  • The "Rookie of the Year Award" goes to the region with the most recent average join date.
  • The "Share the Wealth Award" goes to the region with the most authors with a donation halo.
  • The "Noble Benefactors Award" goes to the region with the highest percentage of authors with a donation halo.
  • The "We Hate Nanowrimo Award" goes to the region with the most participants with no word count.
  • The "No, We Hate Nanowrimo Award" goes to the region with the highest percentage of participants with no word count.

Have a fun, productive November!

Sincerely,
James

The fine print:
* Award winners will be announced in early December. Bonus awards will be awarded unless I don’t feel like it, or procrastinate, or can’t find all the numbers necessary to complete the calculations**.

** The results are not audited. Therefore, I can cheat*** with impunity when calculating them.

*** Don't worry. I won`t cheat****.

**** But I could if I wanted to. Mwa ha ha ha.

School teachers and typing tutors. It's the only way Montana will have a chance at keeping up with us.

I think they're threatening our democracy by sending the Tudors! :) There's a very good reason for the American Revolution...

"Tutors" are very different from the "Tudors." Hence my concern for your inability to read...!

Remember we burned the White House AND won the War of 1812! We will win this war, too!

Oh I can READ! I was just making sure you could. ;) And y'all didn't win the War of 1812; it ended in a treaty. Neither side won.

Back at you!! Besides, what made the British think they had a chance at a re-match? It wasn't like we cheated in the Revolution.

That's the point of taunting: to be as immature as possible.

Speaking of immaturity... I notice you also cannot spell worth beans.

Saskatoon, Montana is sorely in need of people who can spell AND read!

Try carrying on a verbal conversation and a text conversation at the same time. It tends to cut into the self-editing. But you're right, I do have a spelling handicap.

Which I guess just helps to level the playing field. Lucky for you all.

If they don't cramp up while swimming, I don't think writer's cramp will be a problem.
