Early this past spring, we had a young cat, barely older than a kitten, come wandering by. He was really scrawny and scraggly and since then we've been feeding him a couple times a day. He's now quite healthy looking and not at all mean or viscous and we suspect he was abandoned, maybe by some people who moved out recently?
Stray Kitty can't stay with us (we already have two cats and my father said "Hell no") so I'm trying to find him a home before the snow comes. I really don't want to take him to a shelter where he probably won't be adopted.
Stray Kitty is very, very sweet and curious with the sweetest, softest little meow. He seems to be a calico, I think. He's white and his back and tail are a combo of brown and gray with leopard spots on his back and stripes on his tail. On the back of each leg is a dark gray/brown smudge of color. He has a sweet, sad face and a bit of a hurt ear (we think he was in a fight). He doesn't have mites and isn't shedding.
I'm hoping to find him a warm, loving home and he seems to be perfectly okay with other cats (albeit hesitant and timid). I will pay for his shots and everything.
If you or anyone you know are interested, PLEASE LET ME KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! It's cold at night and I really don't want him to have to suffer through the snow.
I'm in Twinsburg, about an hour outside of Cleveland and not afraid of driving to meet up.
Thanks.

If you want, you can try Freecycle (freecycle.org) Massillon to see if anyone is interested in adopting the stray. Is he a stray or is he feral? A lot of times people mistakenly think feral cats need to be taken in.
I wish you luck, but I don't really think it's appropriate to post things like this on the Nanowrimo boards. Hope things work out for you. :)

Actually the Freecycle mods get very very upset when people post anything like that on there, the list is supposed to just be for junky objects that would otherwise go into the trash heap and that's it. You could always try Craigslist.org! Or even talk to the ladies that work at the adoption center at Petsmart, the store rents out the adoption space and I think they have a relatively high turnover, and they do take care of their animals. I would definitely take in another cat, but the boyfriend says no and it's his house, so his word rules unfortunately. I wish you the best of luck though!

I was hesitant, but I figured this was probably our best chance for him to find a home before resorting to a shelter.
He isn't feral, that much is pretty clear. He has no qualms about being around humans or being picked up and cuddled. He's still a really young cat.
We're looking at the Forever Friends Foundation which pairs up with Petco. I just hope to find him a good home before taking him to a shelter :(

Okay, well, the reason I suggested the Massillon Freecycle Community specifically is that I know they've allowed pet postings before. They seem to be one of the Freecycle groups that DOES allow postings for animals, though most of them do not.

I wish you luck. Unfortunately, I'm allergic and I don't know of anyone who would take in a cat right now. Sorry. :(
