Hey all!

There have been a few discussions among MLs from other regions that have brought up the topic of basic internet safety, so consider this your friendly reminder.

This is a great website. It's full of friendly people who form their own unique kind of community every November. Half the fun of NaNo is meeting other people who share your interests and can help support one another through this crazy project we're all taking on.

That said, it's still a website.

Even though we have a great NaNo community going, please keep in mind the things you would when visiting any other internet site. Don't give out too much person information (exact address, phone number, a detailed breakdown of your daily schedule including where people can find you at every minute of the day...) and be careful about meeting people. Anything on our regional calendar will be open to all and in a public place. For reasons of basic safety, we strongly strongly discourage anyone from meeting at one another's home or any other non-public space.

NaNo is a lot of fun and we have a great group, but it's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your personal information and safety.

If you have any questions or think you see something sketchy, send me a message and I'll get back to you ASAP.

"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."
