I would love to be able to attend write ins this year, but a lot of times the locations/times are just too far for me to travel. I live in Campton which is on the southern edge of the White Mountains.

Anyway my mother is the director of the Effingham Public Library http://effingham.lib.nh.us/index.html and when I have a Saturday off from work I tend to visit her and hang out at the library... it's hopefully a nice six hour chunk of time for me to get writing done (especially durning Nano!) I'm planning to be there Saturday the 7th. Is there anyone who would like to join for all of part of the day?

Let me know!

Megan

Campton? No kidding. I was in Campton until last fall (I'm in Plymouth now), and a group writing day or two this month sounds good.

Other possibilities include Cook Memorial Library/http://www.tamworthlibrary.org/ in Tamworth, open Saturday 10-4, Chocorua Library/http://www.chocorualibrary.org/ in Chocorua, open Sunday 1-5... Maybe Chocorua on the 1st, and Cook on the 14th? Also Starbucks in N. Conway is a pretty good place to write; good music and lots of outlets.

Funny about outlets. I meant electrical, not shopping... Must be somewhere in Plymouth, too. PSU Library?

I know both of those libraries well (I grew up in Tamworth :) ) but I know I'm working on the first :( and I'll probably be working on saturday the 14th too, though I don't know for sure yet. I work retail and my schedule changes every week.

I'd love to try something in Plymouth too if that would work better for people. Does anyone know if we'd have to be PSU students to use their library? There is also the Pease Public Library there-- though I don't remember their hours off the top of my head.

I know that (with the exception of the day before Thanksgiving) I *should* have all my Wednesday's off work, maybe sometime in the evening would work for some of you?

I will look into Plymouth's public library hours (and availability).

Man, lipogrammatic posting is difficult. Lots of important but out-of-bounds words.

Whew...glad someone mentioned something almost North of the Notch, especially this time of year. Not sure what I can make but I'm willing to try. Littleton library may have a room available (don't know if it would cost something) if we don't want to have to go all the way to Conway.

Cook Library in Tamworth also open 10-8 on Wednesdays... I'm told PSU Library is open to anyone for use (not for book withdrawal)—and probably has long hours...

I could be down for.... most of those places, hehe. I'm in North Conway and I'm a grad student at PSU in my "spare time" (hah). It just depends on my schedule. Be nice to write with some other North Country people, though!

PS- Jane, tell your husband hello from The Countess! He should totally be writing too, btw...

It's awesome to see people in the Campton area doing NaNoWriMo. Was there any settled ideas about where a group might be able to meet up? I'm in in Woodstock and am in Plymouth most days. We could probably also raid Cafe Monte Alto (its busy, but has free internet and delicious coffee)

Let me know - i'm free Sunday Monday and Tuesday generally.

Hmmm...haven't seen much happening here, Sean, but to be honest, I haven't invested as much time in facilitating this group's meeting up either. I've been struggling with a lot to do and family being sick (seems like the flu has been making its rounds all over NH), but I'd still like to meet up with others for write-ins to supercharge my word count. I'm too busy at the moment to make it happen, but if someone else can find out more where we can meet (the closer to Littleton the better for me), I'd like to be apart of it if I can.

oops, sorry, everyone. I sort of started writing and I've neglected this a little bit this month. (or more than a little, Sorry!)
Maybe we could work out something for this coming Sunday, the 15th? I'm not entirely sure of where though, though I would have the entire day available. Would the day work for anyone else? Any suggestions on a location?

I'm thinking of trying to be at the Starbucks in N. Conway at 2:00, or a bit earlier, on Sunday the 15th, until 5. That work for any of you?

Then off to the Arts After Hours potluck; maybe of interest to some of you in the writer/artist/etc. community.

Oh yeah, and I will be at Cook Library in Tamworth from 10-12 on Saturday, Nov. 14. Maybe longer, or may have to run off with the kids. If you have kids 9 and older you could bring them to this workshop, http://artstamworth.org/2009/10/act-for-kids-felt-animal-workshops/, and write while they make felt animals.

and forgot to say, library is open until 4 so you can write for most of the day if you want, and have lunch next door at The Other Store...best library ever...

I think that I can probably make this work. It's a bit of a drive for me, but I'd really like to meet up with people :)

Remind me where exactly the Starbucks is though, please? Isn't it in one of the Settler's (Crossing?) plaza's... I seem to remember it being in the first section on the left side of 16 when driving north. (I haven't been to N. Conway enough lately.)

Yup. If you're driving north on 16, it'll be on your left at the.. second traffic light on the strip, I think? It's hard to miss.

Just wanted to say it was really nice to meet everyone who was at Starbucks in N. Conway this afternoon. I had a lot of fun today!

Good luck with all your word counts!

Yay, North Country writers!

I'll catch up to your word counts after grad school loosens its death grip on my schedule (this weekend). Just you wait, hehe.

So I was wondering if anyone else would be interested in another write in at Starbucks in North Conway. I finally found out (officially) that I have sunday off this weekend. I know the holiday weekend may not be convenient for everyone, but I thought I'd give it a try, a last attempt to get word counts as high as possible before the deadline on monday.
I can be there the same hours as before, 2 to 5pm again.

Anyone else interested?

EDIT: I heard not too long ago that there might be an alternative possibility of one of the Tamworth libraries for sunday? That would work well for me, too :)
