Figured since there's already talk goin' on about this in the "where you from?" thread, I'd just go ahead and make a new topic for it.
Recap: Weekly meetings would be sweet.
Recap: Racy's is excellent.
Recap: InfiniTEA is an awesome place, too, and often has local artists' works displayed (some really good stuff too, like Kaz's paintings....wow!)
Recap: Possibly Sunday afternoons (though I work every other weekend, so would only make two out of four meets
Also, how many people are over 21? 'Cause I'd love to go out with fellow WriMos to Clancy's for a pint sometime during the month.
That's all for now.
Discuss.

It's that time of year again. : ) For anybody late to the game, I was the ML for the Wisconsin: Eau Claire region last year. I don't have time to participate this year, so I had to step aside - but at least we got an area created for our region. Before that, it was basically Milwaukee, Madison, and "Elsewhere" for Wisconsin. : )
We only had about 3 people last year that attended write-ins, but our area cleaned house pretty good as far as "words per person". Hopefully this year can be great too!
I think I may have some official NaNo stickers left over from last year; I'll have to check and see what I've got. Do we have an ML this year?

Well, I'm not sure what exactly the ML does....or for that matter, what "ML" stands for. But, I'm willing to step up to the plate and try something new. After all, it's NaNoWriMo, and new things abound!
If you can fill me in, I'll do my part.
Thanks.

First time participating in NaNoWriMo, but I've been writing all my life.
Racy's and InfiniTEA are fantastic, and I'd love to meet up.
Unfortunately, under 21, so a pint is out for me.

Sadly, I am also under 21... Ah, well. Just a couple more years, then I'll join anyone for a NaNo pint!
But on the subject of weekly meetings...
I'm free all day Saturdays. I know people usually have plans for their Saturdays, but if there's a bunch of people who can only meet at certain times, and a bunch of others who want to meet at other times, maybe we could split up into groups? Or have designated times to meet together or maybe just all write at the same place/time...
Like, we could pick Racy's/InfiniTEA and say "every weekday at such-and-such time anyone who is free should come write together, and on weekends it's such-and-such time, etc..." That way, whenever people are free there is a chance they could go out and write with some other wrimos who also happen to be free then. That won't really work for people who need to write in a certain spot (like a desktop computer) but they could always just pop in and take a break with whoever is at said meeting place writing/hanging out.
I know I'm more motivated when I'm actually in the same room with other people who are writing. It helps keep me focused, rather than getting distracted by internet/video games/pets/movies/all that stuff that makes it harder for me to stay on task at home. It would at least be fun to know that there's a chance that I'll have a chance to chat with other wrimos that drop in.
It might even evolve into little groups of writers that are always there on the same day. It could be a buddy system of sorts.
Any thoughts on this? Possible?

Just a hair under 21 (five rassinfrassin months >.<), though if we're looking at group writing, don't know how conducive a bar would be anyways. XD
Racy's and InfiniTEA would both be lovely. Or do people still go to the Acoustic?
My schedule is very weird. Not sure if I'll be available *every* Sunday/Saturday/other suggested day, considering my class schedule and whatnot, but if I *can* make it, I will certainly try to.

Thankfully, I'm not under 21, so I'm up for a Landshark (for those of you familiar with Jimmy Buffet) anytime. I'd love to meet up, not sure if the everyweekend thing would work as I would want to spend some of that time with my kids, but whatever the majority is is good for me.

Again, I'm under 21, but my dad and I had a landshark together on vacation. We're both Buffet fans :D

Over 21 here, and I'd be cool with either Sunday afternoons or Friday Early Afternoons (ending no later than about 3 to 3:30 depending on where it is).

Well, seeing as this Sunday is the ALMIGHTY FIRST OF NOVEMBER, I plan on settling myself in at one of the aforementioned cafes for some good, solid, noveling hours. I'll be at it from at least 6pm until about 10pm, if not earlier. If anyone would like to join me for a kick-ass Day One, I'm open to meeting anywhere. Otherwise, I'll probably be at Racy's. If 6 is a bit late, I'm free the entire day after eleven in the morning.
I'd love to kick off NaNoWriMo together with a bunch of people! So, if anyone can/wants to write in proximity, I'll be checking back here tomorrow morning and afternoon. Happy Noveling, everyone!!
(Oh, and Happy Halloween! Yay for candy!)

I'm up for meeting but can't do it once a week. I like the idea of such and such time at such and such place and then whoever can show does.
I don't know Eau Claire very well so I might need directions if anyone can help me out on that. :)
Thanks and looking forward to trying not to edit what I write....haha

Over 21, but don't drink. Love Racys. I knit there a lot. I'm not much of a writer so I suppose I could use all the help I can get. What sorts of things do you do at meetings?

I have to apologize. I thought I would be enjoying an epic FIRST WRITING SESSION at Racy's tonight, but unfortunately, I've been called into work. I hope to join together with some fellow novellers in the future, though! I'm very sorry if I miss anyone who is there tonight. I was really looking forwards to some group writing.
Ah, but next time!

Also under 21. Racy's sounds good to me, it's pretty close to campus. Depending what happens, I may try to make it out there friday.

I'm not working Friday, so I'll be there also!

If it works out and people come, I'll be the one wearing the goggles. That way you'll know which one's me!
They're my novelling totem. ^_^
