Hi, I'm on Salt Spring,
I 'm not looking for meetings, or a buddy group really, it would just be nice to touch bases occasionally with someone also tearing their hair out or not feeding the teenagers and hubby due to writing 50,000 in one month ...

I'm not into meetings either, but it is good to know that somebody else on this island is doing the same thing I am this month! I thought I was alone, but I am delighted to find out that I'm not!
We can do it!! Don't give up! Have fun. My novel this year is just fun. I am letting it lead me down the garden path into all sorts of trouble. Be free!

Actually, when this is over I was thinking of looking for a writers group. A one a month kind of thing. do you know if there is anything like that out there? I've never been to one, as I'm a solitary writer, mostly for my own amusement. How Asimov was able to sit with the family and the TV and have his typewriter on his knee I don't know! I hate interruptions ... unless it's chocolate.

I admit all my writing is for fun. I tend to find that when my favorite authors just can't keep pace with my reading, and I can't find another just as good, I jolly well go and write one myself! In the moves I have made in the last thirty years I have lost so many manuscripts (just as well I expect) but I found a couple recently and was going to finish them, but this came up.
I am finding this rather fun too, so the best of luck to us all!
Have you done this before? I only found out about it as someone I knew in Cyprus said last year that she was doing it. I was living in Brittany for about eight months at the time, and was moving again, so I couldn't do it then.
I'm glad to be back on Salt Spring!

----------Shyskies, with all you are doing I can understand that you may need to finish this next November! I couldn't do it last year due to school work, so I'm doing it this time.
I have been told it's very helpful, and I am finding lost of benefits! My problems have been perfectionism and procrastination (after all, if I finished it I might be tempted to send it off to an agent and then I could be rejected, right?)
I put my real book aside to write this one, and it's rather fun!
