So, did you kill anyone in your novel that shares the same name with someone on the forums? Did you want to share that particularly gruesome tale?

I think you should, because I never get to read them.

I'm doing a scary story where people die, but I don't know who yet. But my characters have antiquated names, so I doubt there will be any identical monikers.

If you want, Errol, I can name the guy I kill off in the first chapter after you.... ;)

I killed a lot of people in my novel last year, but they didn't really share the same name as anyone on the forums. :p

More like I killed the idea of "love" over and over. Because I'm a heartless beyoootch. :D

A couple of years ago I had 'Tim' in my novel (as it became a dare to have him in it... I think this started in the Calgary forum?) and he was going to die eventually... but I never finished that novel. Too bad, because I actually liked that novel.

I was just telling Nat that I'm not really good at killing characters - even the villains. I prefer to punish them in ways that are worse than death. Sorry I can't satisfy anyone's bloodlust... although I might, given enough encouragement, be able to work in a gruesome offscene murder or two in this year's plotline.

My novel will begin with the death of a cellist and proceed with mass carnage.

This isn't 100% relevant, but it's a funny story...
Last year, I had a character who was a teacher named Mr. Bennett. By the end of the novel, which had a pretty crazy plotline, Mr. Bennett ended up going insane and getting shot.
And then I found out that there's a Mr. Bennett at my school.
And then my math teacher asked to read my book.
For obvious reasons, I said no. :P
Yeah, I think I can probably get expelled for that.
I claim insanity. XD

If I finish my first novel early enough and there's plenty of time for me to work on a second, there will be plenty of Forum-related deaths in it. The second novel project is planning on being a Toronto NaNo mass-murder mystery.

My CYOA story this year is going to focus around a vampire/immortal character named Errol.

The point of this book will be that he is trying to kill himself and can never quite manage it. =D

My book is pretty sad. One of the main trio is going to die. I'm sad for my character, but dying kind of suits him. OK, that sounded weird. By the way, of all strange names, he's going to be named Rolo. No clue why.

I never used to kill people in my stories, but Nano's changed all that. At least 7 perished in the last novel and considering this year's begins with a bloody revolution........lol.

Errol Lumir (*smirk*) has died, and is currently being autopsied. (That last not on screen, though.) I'll post a copy of his death scene... probably tomorrow.

Okay, so I was discussing these particular deaths on chat, and people were telling me to go dark, so I did. I don't know if I like the scene as much as I should, but it's there and can be tweaked later. It's not someone who is on the forums, but everyone on the chat was encouraging me, so I figured I would post it here for all to enjoy.

So without further ado, this is Star, my female MC, killing her mother and Grandmother. it's a looooong exerpt here

"There was a strange sensation in my mouth, my gums hurt around my canines and I gingerly ran my tongue over them and gasped in shock to find that my teeth felt longer. My gasp awakened my mother and she looked at me with an expression of disinterest.
“What do you want? I don’t have any money, if you’ve used up all your paycheck already, then tough.”

I looked at her for one long moment and then did something that surprised even myself. The beat in my head was taking over and I felt like someone else was taking care of my movements. It felt like the world began to spin in slow motion. I put my hand down on her mouth and found that I had no problem holding her down against the pillow. I roughly turned her head to one side and exposed her neck. There under the skin, I could see the pulsing artery and I lowered my head, my mouth placed over the pulsing vein. I bit.

It was like a geyser being shot into my mouth and all my senses kicked on for real. There was a deep pleasure, I could taste the blood rushing into the back of my throat, but it was like nothing I had ever tasted. There was a saltiness to it that made my mouth water, and the heat, the intensity of the heat that coursed down the back of my throat. I took a big gulp, but the thirst was not sated. I could feel my mother’s heart beating, and which each beat another spurt rushed into my mouth. The beast in my head growled. I wanted more, I wanted it all. There was no sound coming from my mother, and slowly I felt her heartbeat become erratic, and finally it stopped, and the taste was gone, the frenzy had left me. I felt like I could rule the world.

It wasn’t just the blood that I had taken from my mother, it felt like I had drunk her life force. I looked around the room and I felt as if there were a pair of binoculars stuck to my eyes, I just had to focus and things that should have looked so far away suddenly seemed like they were within my reach. It was delicious.

But then I looked down at my mother in the bed. She was dead. The wound on her neck was gaping, but there was no more blood flowing from it. She was white, as pale as the dirty sheets she was lying on. It was matricide, and something inside my head asked me, do you really care? And the truth was I didn’t. She was never someone I would ever have said I loved. But there was a small part of me that was screaming, you just committed murder. You’re going to jail for life! But that part of me felt small, it felt as if I could lock it away and not have to deal with it again. What was happening to me?
I was just beginning to suspect when I heard a gasp from behind me. I spun so fast that I almost lost my footing. My Grandmother was standing in the doorway and she had her hand over her mouth, staring in shocked. She looked, like a deer in the headlights, not knowing if she should run, her whole body slowly amassing it’s strength to try and fly. But I wasn’t going to give her the chance. I was on her in an instant, there was no chance for her elderly reflexes.

The second time it was just as ecstatic as the first. The taste of the blood was a little more dilute, but there was enough of it that it didn’t matter. Within minutes, her body slumped against mine and I could feel the dead weight of her, but when I tossed her down, she might as well have weighed 10 pounds. There they both were, two bodies, and me the one responsible for them. But then my whole body began to heat, as if a fever was building in my head and was spreading to the rest of my body. My heart was racing so hard that I was worried that it would pop right out of my chest. There was a ringing in my ears, as if my heart was screaming under the stress that it was under. I stumbled out of the room. "
