Google Wave is a new application from Google that merges email and Facebook and goes beyond that to provide an interactive, real-time messaging program. You can add pictures, documents, and edit previous comments, all in real time while other people are also interacting in the same wave. Instead of dealing with emails going back and forth, and people forgetting to hit "reply all", this lets you add people to the wave as needed, and lets them follow everything that's going on.
It's a lot of fun, but I'm still learning the details. And hopefully I'll soon find someone to play games with in real time :D.
