Hey Everyone! Just a word from your friendly neighbourhood Word War Captain!
I'm just dropping by to set up this thread as promised. No, I haven't even left the Dominion yet, for those who are wondering.
For those of you who missed the kick off party and don't already know... this year we are taking on our long-standing rival... dum dum dum dum......
LONDON ENGLAND!!!!
Trust me, it sounded better in person than it did typing it. Anywho, now onto the rules of this year's Word War:
1) EVERYONE IS WELCOME, that being said there is no cut off as to a number of members that we can have on our team. The cut off date is the 10th of November at 11:59pm.
2) The winning team between the two cities will be determined by finding the average word count per person. For those of you who are mathematically challenged, as I am most days, that is calculated thusly: Total number of words written by the city's team divided by the number of members on said team.
3) You MUST update regularly. Anyone who does not update for 8 or more days will be stripped from the team.
4) Members may be dropped from the team per the decision of the two Word War Captains - in other words, we will probably choose a low word count (like 10K) and cut everyone below that by a certain date. We will give advance warning if this is going to happen, though!
5) You must have fun! While fun does include heckling the people from Team London, please remember to be fair and polite as they may be our opponents but we are ALL working towards the same goal and deserve the same respect!
That being said.....
Let's show them Londoners who's boss and - let the games commence!!!

Alright. Fine. I'm in. I am in if only to show the city where I want to eventually live how awesome the city where I currently live is.
I'll find out if any of my mates from London are involved in this...and then distract them with shiny objects.

Count me in for the team. Definitely want to be a part of this one (my novel is partly inspired by Agatha Christie's Miss Marple, so being against an English team is a neat coincidence).
It'll be interesting to see how this year's rules will affect the dynamic compared to last year.
Leaning on powerhouse writers might not pack the punch it has in the past, so we'll all have to work harder than ever.

I'd like to be in, if only so I can claim to have declared vendetta against a city. Especially London.
Also... hello other Toronto people!

SOOOO excited! I was hoping it would be London this year.
Guys... we have a job to do. That job is to PWN. London's probably got a lot more writers. I mean, it's a bigger city, and, well, it's London, England. Gods only know how much more inspired I'd be if *I* lived in London.
Besides which, you KNOW you want to be able to say you helped Toronto kick London's ass.
How often does Toronto get to be better than London? :P
