Hey everyone;

I'm a member of the Crime Writers of Canada, and with Mady's help, I've been arranging an event at the Pointe-Claire Library. Three awesome Canadian crime writers are coming to speak about their books: Michael Blair, Mary Jane Maffini, and Louise Penny.

If you're interested in meeting these fantastic local authors and listening to them speak, come on out to the Pointe-Claire Library on Saturday, November 21st between 3:30 and 5:00!

Think of it as good inspiration as we get down to crunch time.

Margo

Added bonus: the library has some great work areas and seats set up, if you want to arrive early and dig into your word count for the day before attending the event. There's even a computer area set up in the Reference section!

The only downside is that (as with most libraries) food and drink are not permitted...

Sounds interesting, and it's close to home. I'll have to see if that's the weekend my wife's away, but otherwise I might go.

Is the library accessible? If it is, give me the address and start/end times; if I'm in town, I'll attend. I like the 42nd Precinct (I think that's the title. Ed McBain wrote them) and Elmore Leonard stuff a lot. I haven't tried my hand at crime fiction yet though.

I believe so. I recall seeing someone with a scooter last year, but...I could have been seeing things (it WAS the NaNo when I went a bit...uh...overboard...)

Let me check on that - they should say something on the website. If not, if anyone's in PC, can you check? I'm more concerned about there being a ramp or not; the meeting room itself is on the main floor, so once you're in, you're good.

JayBee, do you want me to make a space for the chair, or do you want to leave the chair at the back and walk up closer on your sticks?

(Thanks Mady for the addy!)

It's been a while, but if I recall correctly the entrance is at the level of the parking lot. No ramps, stairs or anything - just an automatic sliding door. I can pass by and check in time for Jeff to make transport arrangements.

Definitely make room for the chair (the one I use at the Gare) I no longer use my crutches.
