Is anyone interested in joining a couple Alameda writers at Panera in South Shore on Sunday mornings?

I wish I could be there with you two. I am from Alameda but currently stationed in Afghanistan. It would have been nice to have the support. Keep it real Alamedians or ites or whatever we are called!

You have our virtual support! I'll add you to my buddy list and give me a shout whenever you need a push or shove or pat on the back.

Wow, Afghanistan? Truly a world away! Definite virtual support headed your way. :)

As for when we should meet in Panera... late morning/early afternoon is best for me. As early as 11, late as 2 or 3? Not sure what your preference is.

I should note I won't be able to make it on the inaugural Sunday, tomorrow, because it is the boyfriend's birthday. I'll be getting my count started, but it just won't be from Panera. ;)

Thank you for the add and support. I will do the best I can to return the help when needed. Beginning the story is harder than I thought it would be haha.

RowanD - for some reason, I'm not being alerted when you reply to this thread, so I apologize for missing your response. I couldn't make the inaugural, either. Let's meet next Sunday. 11 is best for me.

How was your first day?

I think it was the ridiculous backlog created by Day 1 shenanigans which prevented notification emails from going out. At least I assume that's why I had 20 new NaNo messages when only an hour before I'd had none. ;)

Next Sunday at 11am at the Panera in the South Shore shopping center (the one in the court right next to the Chipotle, the Greek place, etc., right?) sounds good to me! One of us should bring a sign or something else identifying.

My first day... a wash! This week has been horrendous, well placed in a long line of "November is a really ***** busy month" sagas. I'm hoping to do one or two really crazy days sometime this week before I get to finally do the normal ~2k/day thing.

How about you?

I got in a total of 1500 words, so not too productive. Like you, November is crazy for me. I plan on putting in some long hours on Thursday to 'catch up.'

Yes, the Panera is by chipotle. I can print one of the down-loadable flyers to bring, but feel free to provide a sign, too if you'd like. Can't guarantee I'll have my act together by then.

Looking forward!
Jennifer

I've decided to steal an old idea I had for a previous NaNo, which jumpstarted me into my current paltry count. Definitely going to be using my "free time" tomorrow to get going on this. At least that's the plan!

I just wanted to make sure there wasn't another Panera hiding somewhere else on the island. I'll see what I can do about a sign for myself.

Here's hoping the week smooths out and we can meet on Sunday ready to rip into a head-start on Week 2! ;)

'Til then,
Ashley

Hello!

I'm happy to see an Alameda write-in planned. I'm going to try and join you this Sunday. I haven't been to the Panera yet, and I will have a lot of catching up to do this weekend! ooh and afterward I can do my grocery shopping, perfect. :)

Looking forward to meeting up Sunday. I just wanted to give some encouragement to you all before then. I've been having a tough go finding my groove and getting caught up in trying to shape and revise as I go instead of writing forward. I figured you might have been experiencing the same.

We have Alameda resident, earmonster, is in Afghanistan writing away and will be with us in spirit.

I'm going to go to Panera today or tomorrow and speak to management to see if we can get some space reserved. I doubt it will be overly busy and there is a back section that is secluded from most of the dining. Ideal for us writers.

Also, if I don't respond to your replies on this thread it's because I am not getting them timely. This morning I woke to 12 emails from Halloween! It would be easier to either send a direct NaNo mail (I assume I will get that quicker), or my regular email address, which I can give you on Sunday.

Keep the pen (keypad) moving!
Jennifer

I hear you on the groove. I had it for a little bit, then I lost it. I am also revise as I go. I can't help it. I am the kind of writer that will sit and think about a section to death before I actually type it out. It may take me 5-6 hours to type out 1,600 words. I'm so bad haha. I am still managing to string along though.
Do you feel like the Novel idea isn't so good anymore? Do you know what the problem is?
If you need a swift kick in the butt through Nano mail or email I can do that for you(or maybe just a kind email to check in on you...a little less violent at least). I know I could ALWAYS use the help, more often than not.
=) I am sure this Sunday will help you out a lot too.

Oh and depending on what time you all decide to meet up and write on Sundays, I might be writing at the same time as you. I am exactly 12 1/2 hours ahead of you. So lets say you are writing Sunday afternoon, I will be writing at 1 in the morning on monday(which is when I usually write anyways).. Best of luck to all of you.

Could we do on saturdays in the main library?

Sounds like a good idea. I can't guarantee I can make every Saturday, though. What did you have in mind in terms of a meeting time? I love the library. We could even get a private room if people feel easily distracted, but that may be claustrophobic.

I can't make it Saturdays. I was just looking at my schedule for the rest of the month and it's a doozy!

I won't be able to make next Sunday's Panera write-in as I'll be in Sacramento.

I should be able to make the weekend after that. I may or may not be doing the Night of Writing Dangerously -- probably not!

The weekend after that is Thanksgiving and I'll be in SoCal with my boyfriend's family!

So I'm going to miss out on an awful lot of this month. That's a shame. :/

I might try to dodge out of my Monday evening plans on the 30th in favor of one final night of crazy writing, though. Would anyone be interested in scheduling a time and place to do that?

Hm. I don't think I can make any of those days you all have planned. Sorry.

Hello fellow Alamedians. How is everyones word count coming along? Keep up the fantastic work. I am 2 thousand words behind schedule but plan on hitting it hard in the next few days and getting my word count up there.

So. 11am on Saturdays at the main library?
Can we meet up in the Dewey cafe?
I'll be there early with a stuffed white mouse. You'll see me. Bring some indentification. XD
