Aha - a double post eh?
You've got a long way to go to catch my triple post :-)
Yes, this will be my first time. I'm also doing a creative writing course with the OU, so time could be at a premium.
What about You?

Hello Kelso folks. A Hawick neighbour here, getting into the way of writing again after so many years. Should be fun!

Hello Hawick neighbour. Good to have you aboard.
It's great that there's now three of us borderers writing away.

Hello! I'm in the Borders too - Innerleithen.
OK. I admit it - I have been tempted by the Edinburgh Region and it's Write-ins so I've spent lots of time pretending I am all sophisticated and used too that big town, coffee house stuff. Not that I'm saying that Wrimo's in the Scottish Border's aren't sophisticated. No. Never. All I'm saying is that we're all seperated from realising our true sophistication by a poor bus service.
Anyway, if anyone is passing through the half mile, linear settlement that is Innerleithen, we actually have a cafe in the town. One that sells proper lattes made from espresso shots and lots of nice cakes. Now, it's no Starbucks, don't think it has WiFi but it does have a chaise longue and a comfy atmosphere. It could probably manage 2 or 3 Wrimo too. They'd have to have their laptops in fine fettle though - I don't think the cafe provide's free electricity.
Mind you I'm willing to travel - so if any of you lot want to meet-up in a Kelso coffee shop then I might be able to make it ... but not Saturday the 14th. I'm going to the our forum's National Writein in Inverness... see, I am willing to travel. Will I see any of you there? Oh, oh well. Of course ... I forgot about the bus service ...
Happy writing,
Dunkv

Trust me that you don't have a clue what poor bus service really is. Try living in southern Arizona, 10 miles from the nearest grocery store.
At least here you have a chance of at least one bus a day.
I was down on the Borders for a couple days in September. Found the most amazing candy shop in Jedburgh that had Marzipan rocks. It is a good thing it is such a long trip from here, those things are addictive.
Your coffee shop sounds wonderful. You don't want WiFi when you are writing. The internet is a huge time sink.
You will be seeing me in Inverness. I'm coming over from Skye. But I'll admit I'm driving.
Looking forward to seeing you there.

Important things to remember during NaNoWriMo:
You can still do this! Trust me, I know you can.
You don’t have to spell check
Grammar is optional
Editing comes later
And a plot is used for gardening

If anyone wants to stop at the Cafe in Innerleihen, their website is: http://www.whistlestopcafeinnerleithen.co.uk ... perhaps we should have a Writein tour of the Borders... a different village each day!
