I just realized that I haven't officially posted this thread! *facepalm*
VancoWrimo has been approved by the VPL as an official library event and so we have secured a room every Thursday evening in the Central Branch from 6:30 to 8:30. We will be following a format similar to the word count Jetpack from the No Plot? No Problem! book and the VancoWrimo PDAs: 3 30-minute periods of writing separated by 10-minute breaks. You will get the most out of the event if you come right at the start. Wrimolympics awards are also up to be won at these events.
We have the Meeting Room on level 3 (one level up if you're entering from Library Square) and the program coordinator at the library has warned me that the room is a bit short on table space. The room is usually set up as a small lecture hall, so there are plenty of seats, but not too many tables. (Another benefit of arriving early!) Also bring an extension cord, preferably with the ground pin (the 3-connector type) so everyone has a plug in.

The event is drop-in; no pre-registration is required.

Note for tonight's write-in: The room has been changed to the Board Room on the 7th floor. It has been changed to accomodate the LAAAARGEEE number of people who came to attend the write-in last week. There were over three times more people than I expected would come.

The room will be unlocked at 6ish, but we won't officially start until 6:30. The format will be similar as last weeks: 30 minutes of silent writing-your-arse-off followed by a talking/bathroom/stretching/bragging/complaining break.

Yup. It's up a heck of a lot of escalators, or an excruciatingly slow elevator that may or may not just be a painted-on door and a button.

Tonight was my first time at one of these write in events. It was great! Nice getting a chance to meet a few of you.

Here's another reminder about this one.

Again, we've got the 7th floor board room for this week. We're back in the third floor next week though, so enjoy this while it lasts! Hope to see you all there.
