Hi guys!

Welcome to a new Nano-year! I know we're going to have more wins this year, and more fun than ever.

Last I checked, 28% of us are, as one gal in the Kootenay region put it "Nanovirgins".
Can I get 3 cheers for the fresh meat? *ahem* I ,... mean... fellow masochists? no... no that can't be right...

3 Cheers for new recruits! (that sounds less gory, whew)

I know we all tend to focus on our meetup and nearby nano-neighbors, but lets all take the time to hop in here and help foster Elsewhere spirit, shall we?
After all.... in one way or another,... every single one of us is "Beyond Hope"!

Also, since with Elenya apparently defected as our ML to join those Vancouverites, it seems our free IRC chat disappeared as well, so anyone with a suggestion for some live chat/procrastination/wordwar stuff. Unless I'm wrong, in which case... speak up ppls! We needz the livechat!

Some of us are also Far from Hope! ;)

Lately I have been using Skype to talk/chat to ppls. Although I think that is more of a chat for a few people... Maybe someone else knows better. I know in the old days it was a matter of downloading an IRC client (software) for the computer and then joining a server somewhere and setting up a channel. Maybe the younger crowd knows better. :)

Go, Elsewhere!

I mean... uh... hurray for Elsewhere! Note the important comma placement -- I'm not commanding that we all "Go elsewhere". :D

(I'm utterly Hope-less....)

I snuck into the Vanowrimo sticky threads and read that they're planning on having an IRC again this year. Perhaps we can finangle a bit of space from them. It sure would save us the trouble of figuring it all out ourselves.
I guess we'll see.

Also, I checked with The Powers That Be, and unfortunately we're stuck with no ML, because the deadline passed already. It would have been cool to link a Google calendar app on the main forum page, but hopefully people will still be able to get organized without that. Anyone with ideas on fun stuff we can do/ways we can all encourage eachother, or perhaps... dare I say it... compete... shout out.
Personally I so want some write-off challenges going up.

This appears to be simple enough to set up if some one is brave enough to do it.

It's very sad that I couldn't keep on as the ML for you amazing Wrimos. If no one steps up and claims my seat next year, I'll make my way back to the realm of the BC Elsewheres, just because I miss you all so freaking much.

Vancouver isn't nearly as awesome.
