The Avalon chapter of NaNoWriMo has doubled it's members since last year! We now have 2 people!! I'll be posting dates for write-ins and word wars on occasion even though most of you will have to take a boat to get here. All write ins will be held at Courtyard Coffee in the Landing coartyard. If you'd be interested in getting away for a weekend to write by the sea, shoot me an email at Hannahstinkyface@hotmail.com. (I may even be able to get you discounts on hotel rooms or put you up with friends.) Everyone is welcome!

Hey!
I think this is a great idea, and would love an excuse to go to Catalina and write :) If you set up any write-ins, don't forget to post it in "The Grand Write-In Thread" so I can get it up on the regional calendar super-fast, and we can get as many people aware as possible :)
You rock!

Oh, man, Avalon is my favorite place in the whole world. My husband and I were married there, and we go to visit at least once a year, if not more. It would be so cool to just sit there and write by the sea.

I get pretty lazy about write ins. It's hard to plan when you're the only one attending. I'll get some set up and post them on the grand write ins thread. At least I know the Avalon chapter will show lol!

Ok here goes! I've never hosted a write in before, so I thought to start I'd host two consecutive WEEK END WRITE IN MARATHONS!!!
----------When: O.K. it starts tomorrow fri. 11/13, sat. 11/14, sun 11/15 from 11am to 4pm There will be a repeat next weekend 11/20-11/22 same time same channel.
Where: Coartyard Coffee in Avalon, CA on Catalina Island.
Directions: Take the boat from Long Beach, San Pedro, or Dana Point. Get off the boat. Walk along the water until you come to the end of Front St. (officially Cresent Ave). Continue along the water until you pass Antonio's Pizza. You'll see a big round building with a red tile roof off in the distance. That's the casino (not a gambling casino.) DO NOT go to the casino. To your right there is a smaller round building that says "The Landing Bar and Grill" Go there. at the other end of the coartyard you'll see Coartyard Coffee with little cast iron tables out front. Yay! You're there!
Boat ticket information: Call Catalina Express (310) 519-1212
Ect: If you'd like to make a weekend of it, shoot me an e-mail at hannahstinkyface@hotmail.com I can get you hotel information. I MIGHT be able to find someone to put you up but I can make no promises as I can't speak for my friends. make sure to BRING A SWEATER!! It's typically five to ten degrees colder than the mainland and there is an ocean breeze all of the time. I'll be posting this on the master thread as well.
I really hope you can come even for the day!

ohmygosh I'm so sorry!
----------I just noticed (a week later teehee) I messed up on the directions to the Avalon Week End Write-in Marathon! wow that's a mouthful...
anyway, I said to go past Antonio's Pizza and there'd be a building (The Landing Bar And Grill) on your right. LIES! I meant LEFT. It's on the other side of a little traffic circle. There is only water to the right. Also I should mention, from the boat go towards town, which is pretty obvious but still I don't want people wandering off into the night on me. It's not as hard as it sounds and if you get lost just ask someone how to get the the Landing restaurant. sorry 'bout that! Hope everyone can make it, it's goint to be super fun!
See y'all next week end!

Great to meet with Grinbunny and Parlance. Got a bit of writing done. I've still got a lot of pages to get done.
