We wanted to make sure you all knew about the third-annual NaNoWriMo Night of Writing Dangerously Write-a-thon. This noir-themed noveling event will be held from 5 PM to 11 PM on Sunday, November 22 at the beautiful Julia Morgan Ballroom in downtown San Francisco!
All you need to do to raise $200 in sponsorships through GiftTool from family and/or friends by November 18. And if you raise $300 or more you can bring a guest!
Not only is this a great chance for us to see the faces of those who support us, but all proceeds from the evening make our programs possible, including the classroom-based Young Writers Program. Come show your support this year by helping us reach our $25,000 fundraising goal! The more money you raise, the more tickets you'll get for our prize raffle. Plus, the top fundraisers will walk home with one of our grand prizes. Check out our Night of Writing Dangerously Write-A-Thon 2009 page to find out what this year’s grand prizes include.
Don’t miss your chance to come write with us for six hours surrounded by San Francisco’s city lights and 200 fellow NaNo-novelists typing frantically alongside you!
Already shopping for my Noir costume,

I had a great time last year and plan to attend this year. If you are considering going, I strongly recommend it! I enjoyed a huge jump in word count in addition to a great dinner and a lot of fun meeting other writers.

Going to what? This is my first year and I'm mystified by all of the activity around it while I sit at my desktop computer and write.

I just sent my RSVP this evening!
Are there any plans for a carpool? I don't have a car, and I am not looking forward to the prospect of taking BART home after 11pm...

I'd love to carpool! Only, I'd rather not be the driver. Anyone know any east bay commuters willing to drive others?

I'm going into the City earlier, for an appointment, but I can drive 3 people home - 4, if three are slender...

I'm also looking for a carpool. I'd be glad to contribute to gas/toll money to the driver..

I've already made an account but apparently, I have something else I have to do that night. Do I need to delete the accout or can I just leave it there? If I need to delete, how do you do that?

I had a great time tonight! Congrats to Ixy-Pixy, one of the dangerous writers who hit 50k during the event.
To the coat check rockstar who walked with me to the BART station: you were totally right, I was getting on the wrong train. I figured it out two seconds after the I sat down and the doors closed.

Yay, Ixy-Pixy! I had such a great time, too! I'm already looking forward to next year, although there probably won't be another lovely Chris Baty doll with changeable hats to win again...

Thanks for the congrats (and the ride, Kimi!). It was an awesome night and I definitely want to go again next year. It was great seeing East Bay well represented!

Do we just stop writing at 50,000 words even if the story isn't finished?
