Hello Colleen!
I have a Samhain celebration to attend, but I believe I might have the energy to join you for the unofficial Midnight Kick-Off at Ava Roasteria!! :)
Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to knit my plot bunny, so just look for a tall woman with radioactive red hair. :)

If I can't get out to the "official" meeting, I can at least make it to Ava's, maybe in costume, maybe not.

Confirmed, we're heading out to Ava, sans costume. I was actually in it, and my late-working hubby didn't want to get dressed up too and had me change :(
Look for two laptop addicts wearing black hats, one a newsboy style (that'll be me) and one fedora (my hubby).

Ava's was busy and noisy, as is to be expected on a Saturday night. It was fine until some lady wearing balloons came in. I have globophobia (fear of balloons) and of course, of all the places in the cafe, she chose to sit right behind ME. I managed to ignore it, out of sight out of mind, until she started rubbing those balloons against one another. You know, that really annoying sound and you just KNOW the balloons are going to pop. I heard that, froze in total panic mode, and just about bolted for the door.
"Focus, focus, just write! She won't pop them, she wouldn't dare, not in a busy cafe. Right? Right?!? Gah, stop rubbing them together!!! It's not even a real costume. Why the $%^& are you wearing a clothes basket filled with balloons???"
Squeak, squeak, not more than a foot behind me, her chair banging into mine. Fingers too tense to type, I gave up the battle. Five minutes of listening to that god-awful noise was too much, and I headed out the nearest door as soon as I finished my sandwich. Not much writing done, I need something to soothe my nerves now, but it made for a good kickoff.
*grumble, stupid phobia, stupid balloonbitch*

I think I saw you guys in your hats... but didn't know you were wrimers. I met several more tonight and managed 1805 words before having to call it. Hopefully can make a couple more thousand tomorrow to pad my count before the work week begins! Good luck all!

Boo, I just read this today.. I love Ava Roasteria! I can be there pretty much whenever, if anybody wants to meet up and write together.. the joy of working from home means I can work from anywhere with wi-fi, and write when I'm not actually working ;)
