A CBD write-in would be great, especially on a Friday night as I work Sundays and won't be able to make it to the Writer's Centre write-ins.
City Extra sounds good, seems to have the most advantages :)

I'd definitely be interested =] For times and days, I'd prefer sometime actually during the day, though I tend to have no curfew. And I have exams on the first two Mondays of the month, and the 2nd Thursday =/
I don't mind the Gloria Jeans/Starbucks venues. I likes coffee xP Though like you say, they can get a bit crowded.

I'm keen for a write in in the CBD too. I don't know about venues though.. any place with powerpoints and free wifi, so far all I know that covers both is a Mickey Dee's. George street is always packed and noisy, but maybe pitt street or .. I don't know :)

Hi all,
I'd be in for a CBD write in. City Extra sounds like the way to go. I'd probably prefer Friday but could also make Thursdays.
Thanks to the organisers!

could do thursdays possibly. How about a library, maybe state library. Should have internet access. Quiet so we can actually get some writing done and a nice inspiring literary environment?

Friday works for me. Thursdays are problematic 'cos I play hockey Thurs nights.

Yay! The only problem is that the only day that works for me is a Saturday during the day and no one else seems to have that preference :( I live a 1hr and 20min train ride from Wynyard station and some of the suburbs that you go through are very dodgy that late at night :( I would do anything to get into a write in ... except put myself in danger which going home on the train that late at night inevitably would be with laptop in hand :(

I'd love to go to a write in this year, I have missed out in previous years. But I'd need somewhere with power points, my lappy is quite the power-hungry dictator :P

A write-in on Thursday nights in the city would be awesome. Fridays would be harder because my friends tend to want to go out and drink or stay in and drink or both.

City Extra sound great. The venue seems very convenient and the only disadvantages is the price, but I'm sure people can live with that just once.

This week, Thursday night (5/11) is no good for me.
How's about this Friday night (6/11) at City Extra from, say, 6pm?
I can book a table, and maybe also one with access to power.
If I could have an idea of numbers by late tomorrow night, that would be greatly appreciated.

I just realised Thursdays are a no go for me. I might pop in this Friday night if I'm not too busy.

I am interested, a Thursday or Friday sounds fine. What about UTS library? You can bring food and hot drinks in there and it's open until fairly late. I think a food venue would be difficult. We could always stop and go out for dinner instead of writing at a dining venue.

I'd do UTS library, I'm probably going to be writing there anyway regardless, in between cramming for exams =)

I've just remembered that I have to work until 5:30pm tomorrow, so I'll be a bit late (probably get there about 6:30pm).
Looking forward to it though :D

Can't make it tonight. Plus, my outer wrist has been aching a lot, so not sure how much writing I'd actually get done. :(

Only just got home from work *shakes fist at customers that arrive right on closing*
Will try very hard to still make it, though am now unsure if I will... *sighs* *pouts*

Hm I missed this last week, but are any others planned for the rest of the month? I'm right near town hall so this would be something fun for me.

If this weather holds out, I've been thinking I'd go back to my old 'inspiration' spot - steps of the Opera House in the evening sun after work - not really a write 'in', but if a write 'out' helps me write on, then I'll take it :-D

Alas, due to mad work demands this week, I won't be able to host or attend a Sydney CBD write-in any night this week.
Anyone else want to set one up for this week?

I will put my 2 dollars (blame inflation) would love to do a write in but due to the fact that i live in the bad part of Doonside (very western suburbs) and the only form of transport me and my laptop have are my own two feet and the train, I can only do sundays, during the day.
How about meeting somewhere for a late brunch on a sunday, say 10:30 ish and continuing through to 4:00 ish? maybe meet up at an eating place then move on to a writing place if it can't all be done at the same place?
Cheers
