Hi, everybody.

Another writer and I have been hosting Study Hall, a multiple-times-a-week come-and-write kind of a group for a while in Seattle ( details and schedule at http://www.meetup.com/seattle-writers-study-hall/ ) and I thought that for the month of November I would host NaNoWriMo-specific write-ins (for those who can't make the Study Hall schedule).

Now, the NaNoWriMo write-ins are the low-maintenance kind of write-ins (meaning, they're in public, relatively quiet locations, and there's no red tape to go with them)... I'm assuming there are folks who work/live in downtown Seattle or in Ballard and who can steal away for an hour or two -- so pick one or more days, one or more locations, let me know, and join us. I'll have a THIS NANOWRIMO SIGN in YELLOW to identify the table(s) in question.

In Ballard:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Mondays, 1 p.m.
* Wednesdays, 10 a.m. (except Nov. 11, Veterans' Day)
* Saturdays, 10 a.m.

The Ballard Branch Library: go through the main doors and walk in a straight line to the back, to this area:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In Downtown Seattle: 2 locations:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Tuesdays: 2:15 pm
* Thursdays: 2:15 pm (Except Nov. 26, Thanksgiving Day)

Central Library (on the top floor; take the yellow escalator to the top floor or the elevator to floor 10 ("Highest Available Viewpoint"), walk around to the main atrium and look for the NaNoWriMo logo (the shield with the horns) in yellow

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* Fridays, 10:15 a.m.

The Food Court at Westlake Center (3rd floor):

Take the elevator or the escalator to the 3rd floor and walk toward McDonald's and go beyond. Look for us in this area

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While not required, a message to me would be helpful so I know how many to expect and can plan accordingly... Looking forward to writing with you.

Great! Please note the location as pictured on the post, and also please note that although the food court at Westlake mall does have electrical outlets, none of the ones I've checked seem to be powered. So bring your battery if you're on a laptop... or not, if you're the ol' handwritin' type. (Does anyone, anymore? :-) ) See you Friday at 10:15 am or thereabouts.

I can do the downtown Nanowrimo write-ins! Thursdays are the best days tho. I have Leadership Institute at my school, SCCC, on Tuesdays at 2pm so I can't make the Tues. meetings.

If in addition to these times you're up for a write-in in Ballard on Sundays at noon, please email me through the site.

Woot! I'm er... too cheap for bus fare, so I'm glad to know there's something going on downtown. I don't know about Friday mornings, but I'm definitely gonna try to catch you at the central library one of these days. ...Maybe even Tuesday, since I've got a book due that day. I make no promises, though. ~__^

Cool! If you do decide to come to the Friday Westlake food-court write-in remember to bring a laptop computer with a working battery... for the library, there's plenty of plug-ins. :-)

Ah. Yes, good to know. I will most certainly NOT be able to do Westlake, then. My laptop battery barely lasts 20 minutes anymore!

Hi, I'm here at the downtown library right now (in the place on the 10th floor with the red chairs shown in the picture) but haven't seen anyone with a yellow sign yet. Feel free to say something if you see me. I'm on my laptop, wearing a blue jacket, black hair, and a very colorful bag. :)

Oops. Bus running late right now for 2:15 library meeting on Tuesday the 10th of November. Hopefully there by 2:30, everybody.
