Hello Maine writers. Good luck with the NaNoWriMo contest. I'm in the Ellsworth area, this is my first try at the contest, I'm a new member, and I hope at the end of November to have a novel I've been trying to write is at least somewhat finished! I hope there are lots of Hancock county writers on-board. Patricia

Patricia, it looks like you're off to a great start. I got started today as well. And I'm new this year too. If enough Ellsworth area writers surface perhaps we could organize a Write-In at the Library or the Maine Grind!
Good luck.

Hi -
Ellsworth is closer to home for me than Bangor and the Maine Grind and the library are both wonderful spots, so participating in a write-in is a possibility for me! This is my third time participating in NaNoWriMo and this year I am going to try to keep a steady word count pace. It should be a little easier now that I am an empty-nester and have a bit more quiet time - although I seem to be just as busy as ever. Linda

Stonington writer chiming in here. Ellsworth is still 45 minutes from me, but closer than anything else I've seen around here. Not sure I'll be able to do a write-in, but it's nice to hear from other local NaNoWriMo's :D
----------Proud NaNoWriMo Rebel this year! I will finish this novel! Really!

Another Stonington. :) Actually, baleensavage is my husband.
This is my first year, and I'd love to try to get to a few write-ins!

Hi! I'm excited to see some more Ellsworth area Nanowriters. I'm all for getting together at the Maine Grind. Or, I have a meeting space at my work we could use, just north of Ellsworth on Route 1. This is my third, or is it fourth try (and I was a winner once! ) This time I'm going for quality as well as quantity, but, we'll see.

I'd be glad to participate in an Ellsworth write-in. The library and the Maine Grind both sound like great spots to me. I think the Grind tends to close at 5 or 6 on weekdays, so that might be a better spot for a weekend afternoon write-in. I bet the woman who owns the Grind would be really into it, too, since she seems to be open to having a lot of interesting events there.
I don't visit the forums that often, so it's probably easiest to contact me by direct e-mail: janea@paws-and-effect.com

I'm another NaNoer in Ellsworth. I'd be interested in participating in a write-in preferably on the weekend. It's a lot of fun and great support to get together with other writers. I'm a bit behind on my word count because I just had to finish reading a novel I'd been reading for almost a week before starting to write.

I'm going to be downtown today (Nov. 3), so I'll stop in at the Maine Grind and see if the owner's around to talk about arranging a write-in.

I'm going to be at the Maine Grind on Saturday from noon until about 3 p.m. If anyone wants to come by and write and swill coffee with me, I'm up for it.
I'll be the one with the netbook that has a bright yellow "Reading is Sexy" sticker on it.

Anyone up for a write-in this weekend? I like going to the Maine Grind in the afternoons on the weekend to write and drink chai ^_^ Kathy's cafe (in Mr. Paperback) is also a good place for beverage and writing (they also have internet access).

I wish I could do a weekend, but they're usually tied up with stuff. Anyone for a weekday? Maybe at the Maine Grind, or even in Blue Hill somewhere?

Nikko, I'm going to be at the Grind on Saturday afternoon from noon to 3 or so. Maybe I'll see you there.

EGAD - I am behind on my word count!! Oh well, I kind of changed story direction - that's my excuse and my reason for setting a goal to catch up (sort of) by the end of the week. I do not have to go to work on Veteran's Day so I will plunk myself down and start writing! Weekends are difficult for me as I am not usually home - however I will try to make a write-in because I would like to meet everyone and I need "a no excuses" environment :-) Good luck everyone! Linda
