I saw this on the forums last year and it was a lot of fun to do. Create a Haiku poem summarizing your novel! To keep it simple, let's try to stick with the 5-7-5 format...And here's a site with some more info and tips on how to write a Haiku: http://www.mahalo.com/how-to-write-a-haiku-poem

Annnnd here's my attempt:

Sunset echoes blood
Castle falls, blindly she runs--
danger's arms invite

Your turn!!

Well... let me take the opportunity of this accidental double posting to encourage people to post their Haiku poems! You know you want to!

Hmmm... I'm HORRID at Haiku's... but let's give this a shot:

New world found;
Unimaginable dangers and new friends
Beginning or end?

----------

~*Oh, let me warn you, sisters in Jerusalem,
by the gazelles, yes, by all the wild deer:
Don't excite love, don't stir it up,
until the time is ripe—and you're ready*~

You know, I tried to earlier, but I just... Haikus puzzle me. Alright, take two!

Here's one for my MC:

Unprepared she stands
Her sister Queen's iron fist
Strong, brave and foolish

As for plot...

Power thrust on her
Eldest must take the Queen's throne
Sisters by her side

Summary of my MC's motivations for most of the story:

My alpha was smart.
I don't want to be like him.
I'd rather be dumb.

Tricky kitsune
A Hero's Journey is set
To stop spirit drugs.

Police Detective
Enters supernatural
World to save his city.

Not the ideal haikus (ideal ones use seasonal imagery), but it gets the ideas across!

A neat exercise for one's mind, perhaps even more difficult than the six word summary. How do you summarize a novel in a strict poetry form? I like!

ooh. Sounds like fun! Lets see what I can come up with...

Fairys and ice cream
start a journey not wanted
now what will she do?

Haha! Not my best, but it works. LoL
