I did it. Sat down and wrote 1718 words of my 'Hen Lit" or 'Menopause Lit' novel. I'm in love with the story. Hope the love affair lasts. Took me two hours, got to get my speed up.
Happy writing everyone

I'm at 1200. I'm almost there for the day!
(The most I've ever gotten for the entire month is like 6,000)

I'm at 1200, but that's EXTREMELY good for me because in the past few years I have never so much as hit ten thousand.

2219. I was really supposed to be doing work work, but I forgot to bring home this notebook I needed. Convenient, I know. So I wrote. I liked it. Maybe I'll do some more. I posted an excerpt too.

I wrote 808 words today with a possible concussion (Don't ask) and whiplash symptoms. Not sure if I can write more later but I'll try.
Okay so I will tell you. I went to LBI for a Mystery Ghost weekend. Walking to the play, my knee was killing so I hopped on my little wheely cart and told hubby to push me. He said, “You’re kidding?” I said, “Nope!” For those of you who don't know, this means you are riding backward. Well, he hit the spacer in the sidewalk with the front wheels, the cart toppled over and the back of my head hit concrete.
I tried to hold my head up cause I knew where I was going once the fall started, that contributed to the whiplash symptoms. How do I know? In my younger days, I had a car accident resulting in whiplash and a few years later whacked the top of my head on the freezer door and woke up the next day with dizzy spells. Doc said I had a concussion.
The good news is, the crack my brother-in-law head was my hairclip breaking and not my head. BIL was much surprised when I said, “I bumped my head.” He said, “Yeah, I know.” And was amazed to find 1) I was awake, 2) I could speak, and 3) there was no blood. That plastic hairclip took the brunt of my head trauma.
Do you think I should change my NaNoWriMo from ‘untitled’ to “How to Murder Your Wife and Not Get Caught?” Nah, then I’d have to change my whole story. Besides he feels bad enough he couldn’t hold the cart and keep it from falling.
And did I tell you the guy next door is practicing his drums right now?
So keep writing. I am.
Too bad this doesn’t count toward my NaNo word count. (312)
Oops, NaNo habit, putting word count numbers at the end of everything. (326)

Whew! I JUST made my goal for today - 1667. I want to get ahead of quota in case I ever have a setback....or just when LIFE gets in the way. *go away!* Once I get in the groove, get the feeling, I'll be like greased lightning (sorry for the cliche),
Wow - you did all that in two hours. I'm going to follow your example. With laser focus, she marched boldly on.....
Till tomorrow....

712 today. It's not the 1600 minimum I'd hoped to adhere to, but it's something!
Bonuses: So far I like the story a lot, and the writing isn't horrible.
Away we go!
