I hope you're all having a terrific November 1 and are scribbling away on your novel. The first couple of days are always full of excitement so I'm hoping you're using that to keep up the momentum.
On this thread, feel free to post about your week 1 progress! Are you hitting your word count goals? Has your plot taken an unexpected turn? Or has a couple hundred characters named Steve crashed your novel party? Whatever the case, just keep those words coming.
As a handy guide, here's where you should be on each day this week if you're doing at least 1667 words a day:
Nov 1: 1667
Nov 2: 3334
Nov 3: 5001
Nov 4: 6668
Nov 5: 8335
Nov 6: 10002
Nov 7: 11669

I'm at 8933 at the end of day 2, hope to keep it up. No Steves have shown up yet. No wild plot twists either, I must keep writing.

I have only 2,770 words but I do have more structure to what has been rolling around in my head for years. I'm so excited - and when you all write in and say it sounds bad - well that sure helps my spirits because it sounds great in my head and then - on paper - well the reason I only have 2,770 words is because I keep going back and trying to edit (fix things) which is exactly what one of my main characters is all about FIXING THINGS. If I can let go of that and just keep plunging forward? ? ?
If you'd like to comment on this - feel free. I have so much to say - I am concerned that saying it in chapter 7 but not eluding to it in chapter 3 will mess up the flow.
This is my first "WRITE", does it show?
Suddenly the word DOG FOOD comes to mind :(

I'm at 6325 words and counting. I'm doing kind of a sequel from last year's novel, and it's already twisting and developing as I write it. I love it!
For those who don't have much written yet, don't worry about it. I didn't even find out about NaNo last year until Nov. 4th, and I still managed to pass the 50,000 mark. I know you can do it! Good luck!

I'm so far behind...
3,758 plus the little bit I wrote during class. Doesn't sound too far behind, I know, but my homework is taking up all of my writing time. I've got to reach at least 5000 tonight, but I also have to get through a bunch of homework...
