I just checked us and Boulder, and we're currently almost 20,000 words ahead! Woohoo! We will beat them, and their prolific-ness this year! (Guess we'll see if that sticks for the rankings...since those appear to not be up to date yet)

We were lagging just a bit behind today--anyone who hasn't yet set Colorado Springs as their home region, please do so! We want your words!
I also figured out that we have about 195 writers in COS, and Boulder has about 205, so we have to write that much more to beat them :)
We can do it!

Is there a way for us to see how we're doing against other regions? I am just a bit competitive...

I was just wondering that myself...I might see if I can locate their lounge and check...if not, I might send their ML a friendly note to let him/her know that we are motivated to beat them :P

Now it's official--we are in a word war with Boulder. They have about 10 more writers than we do, but I'm sure that's not going to stop us from blowing right past them. We were ahead again this morning--let's keep it up!!
Go Springs!!

PUMP UP THAT WORD COUNT, PEOPLES! Thanks!
If we all did an extra 1k today above what we would NORMALLY write, we should be able to maintain our lead! So who's with me?

yeah, I was rather distracted at the write in (that pizza was GOOD!) so I didn't get anywhere near what I expected. But I did manage to break 20K, and I just updated--so maybe that will help. And tomorrow I need to just write--like a 6K day. That would be nice.
Keep at it!! We can do this!!

Looks like Boulder made a huge jump ahead of us with about 100,000 words! But our per writer average is still higher, which tells me we can totally come back in this race! Let's do it!
I just updated my word count to add 3750 words--who's with me?

I just tossed in another 4 K tonight all in only 2.5 hours. That's not bad speed :) I'm still a ways behind, but I'm sure on my long vacation I'll be able to do some catching up. It's the 20 hours straight I'll be spending on the road that's going to eat my writing time. I'll be driving out by myself, so I can't type while someone else drives either.
But, I'll be staying with grandparents. They tend to go to bed early leaving plenty of time to type. I'll try to get to a borders or panera with wifi to update wordcounts to keep sticking it to Boulder at least once a day.

Currently it looks like we have gained back some of the ground we lost this past weekend. Let's keep it up! Boulder will go down if I have anything to say about it, and if my wrists don't get too tired.

I'm glad we've got people pushing themselves to make it past Boulder! It's awesome to be a part of you guys.
I'm trying to make up for lost time. We're currently around 50,000 words being Boulder...anybody want to write a novel tomorrow? I'm going to go for a 10k day tomorrow, instead of my current 7k goal, just to lessen that gap a little bit.
Here's wishing you all pleasant dreams, soothed wrists, and fast fingers. (Or, to misquote Princess Bride: May you dream of [wo]men with large word counts)
