7K in a single day!
I couldn't write yesterday, as I was away from any device that looked even remotely like a computer, so I decided I'd work harder today, and as a result, this was my most productive day in four NaNos.
I'm aiming for 10K tomorrow.

Just reached 7k myself, so feeling quite pleased. Might try for 10k tomorrow. I think I could reach it tonight, but I'm being cruelly summoned away to the cinema!

I posted in the 6k thread earlier this afternoon and now I'm here in the 7k thread. For my first NaNo, I've already well exceeded my incredibly low expectations. Anything between here and 50k is just gravy.

I've been giving myself little short sprints: don't move until you write 1,000 words and then close it up and do something else for awhile. That way everything is fresh when I come back for my next sprint.

7000 words already, with an awkward-to-write romantic scene under my belt. 10000 seems like a good goal for today. 9 or 10k.

I hit 7000 about an hour ago, and I think I'm going to reach the first 10k by tonight rather easily. I credit all of the planning. Before I started this year, I knew all of my characters well enough that writing what they do takes a minimal amount of thought. I just need to trust the thought I put in last month while developing my plot.

Things are clearly going to slow down when I get to the meat of the story, but for now, everything is going much better than anticipated.

----------

2004-2008: No wins yet
2009: Wiles
This year is going to be my first win. I'm well past the pace for it so far, and I have almost my entire plot planned out in advance.

Write or Die is THE most amazing thing ever invented. I made it from 6K to 7K almost completely on Write or Die. 'Cause it doesn't matter if I'm just spewing out akward sounding sentences :)

Me too!! On the third day, which I thought was good progress, but I doffs my nightcap in awe to those speedy ones who were before me. I am pleased I have manged to reunite my past lovers and sent them off on their quest with only a compass to guide them. Now they are in much the same situation as myself as they wonder what may befall them, but I'm hopeful the buffer I've built up will be useful if I get writer's block later on.

Hit it a little after noon, but I don't think I'm doing any more writing today. It could happen, but I doubt it. I just don't think I'm ready to write the next scene......

Apparently I'm ready to read it though. I went to take a nap around 1 and picked up the book I'm reading and for a moment I was totally disoriented. I thought I was going to keep reading MY book! Silly Kat, you haven't finished writing it yet! ;)
