I figured I'd post this anew, so it doesn't get lost in the old thread. So! Just as a reminder for any North Side wrimos looking to meet up, here is the schedule we decided on:

Mondays: 6 pm, Starbucks at Kierland Commons
Wednesdays: 6 pm, Borders at Tatum/Cactus
Saturdays: 1 pm, White August Tea
Sundays: 1 pm, Scooter's Coffeehouse

Tonight (Monday 11/2) is the first write-in. I will probably be heading over a bit early tonight, so I'll try to stake out one of those nice big tables for us. Feel free to show up early, late, and leave whenever you like (this particular Starbucks is open until 10 pm).

Hope to see you there!

-Megan

I think they have some, but I'm not completely certain. It might be wise to bring along an extension cord and/or power strip, just in case.

They do have a few outlets if we can score a table near one! I'll try and remember to bring my power strip. Looking forward to the write-in tonight!

Congrats on your awesome wordcount, Gamwyn!

I'm actually going to be able to make it to the write-in tonight (yay!), so I'm actually going to head over there at about 5. I'll try to stake out a table near an outlet, but unfortunately the only power strip I can find is currently in use, so I'll have to depend on someone else to bring one.

Hope to see you all there!

I really want to come to these, but can't get anyone I know to join me. Looks like I have to burst out of that hermit shell and get around some people.

Wow Gamwyn, impressive word count. Really good job.

So I went to borders tonight and wrote for about an hour but it was so crowded with people on laptops I couldn't tell who was with nano and I was too shy to ask! :( I was the girl in white with a headband sitting alone at the far wall. Next time I'll have to make myself a little nano sign. :p

Oh no! Gamwyn and I were the girls sitting just by the door to the patio (we had an outlet staked out), and we were all bummed that no one else had showed up :-/

Usually I have my water bottle out, which has a NaNo sticker on it, as a clue, but I didn't have it tonight. I'm sorry I didn't realize you were a fellow NaNoer so you could have joined us, but I hope you made some progress anyway, and hopefully we'll see you at another write-in soon!

Oh shoot I should have just come up and asked. Haha that's what I get for being shy. :p

Anybody planning on heading to White August Tea tomorrow afternoon? Myself and a friend will be there with lights on and sirens blazing (figuratively speaking, of course). Hope to see a few of you there!

I was stuck at work today and thus unable to make it to White August, but I hope the rest of you had some fun.

I'm going to try to head over to Scooters tomorrow (Sunday) around noon instead of 1, so I'll hope to see some others there. I will bring my water bottle with the NaNo sticker on it, and I'll try to wear my new NaNo shirt too, so everyone can recognize me. Or wonder who that weird girl is :-)

Currently at Scooters (I was a little later than I expected to be), so if anyone else is in the area, I'm in the back in one of the comfy chairs, wearing my NaNo shirt.

Just FYI, if like me you haven't been here before-- it's in the little strip mall thingie called Tuscany Village, on the right side of Cave Creek if you are heading northeast.

Yeah, I went crazy and wrote 10,000 words on Sunday, which was awesome. Scooter's was a great place to work, so I'm really glad you mentioned it. Plus, they were playing swing music-- much better than Starbucks' music choices :-)

But what happened with your word count? It's reading as only 5,500 words right now-- I hope you didn't decide to delete your whole NaNo!

I'm new this year. I will see you at Borders on Cactus. I'm at 17000 words, the title is "Serenity."
My wife and I have written a few stories, and books; see if you want www.brierfieldbooks.com for a recently published one. We use the pen name, Les Brierfield.

See you there.

I will be there as well, with my NaNo-sticker-emblazoned water bottle this time so I'm recognizable :-)

Megan, glad you liked Scooters!! It's so cozy in there, their food/beverages are delicious, and the people are so friendly—love that place! Congrats on your almost-50k!

And nope, you're reading my word count right. I started over yesterday because I couldn't bear to work on that first novel one second longer... Only took me 41k to realize how much I hated it... :-P Scary, but there's enough nano left that I can totally catch up. :-) :-)

I'm planning on going to Borders tomorrow night, too. Hope to see you all there!!

Are you all still meeting up on these dates? I work in North Scottsdale, so I might be able to make next Monday or Wednesday. I also desperately need to catch up on my word count :-)

Yep, we are still meeting, so if you are in the area and want to join us, please do-- it's always more fun to hear others typing away just as madly as you are!

I won't be able to make tomorrow's write-in at White August, unfortunately, but I will be at Scooters on Sunday for certain.

Happy end of week two, everyone!

I went to White August Tea for the write in today (11/14) and I was the only one there. The tea was great, didn't get any writing done though. Is anyone going to be there next Saturday? Because of class schedules it's the only day I'll be able to make it.

Once again I will attempt to reach the goal.

I don't know if anyone else is planning to show up today at Scooter's, but I am just heading over there myself. I'll be the girl in the blue shirt with the silver laptop, sitting in the front section. Hope to see some other people there!

I personally had an awesome writing day last week at Scooters (10,000 words, woot!), so I'm hoping to equal it today :-)

Heading to Borders for tomorrow's (Wednesday's) write-in, and I'd love to meet up with people! Look for a green "Kauai" baseball cap, and a grey zip up hoodie!

Hey all,

I won't be able to make the write-in tonight (Wednesday)-- I've got the beginnings of a bad cold, so I don't want to go out and about right now. I hope everyone who goes has a good time, though, and I'll try to make it on Saturday and/or Sunday.
