I have this short story that I'm working on, but it's a short story and not going to break the 50k mark, so i came up with another idea for a full blown novel, and I am working on them simultaneously...is anyone else doing multiple things right now, or I am a freak of nature?

Oh, you NaNo Rebel, you. hehe I personally am not doing that because the thought of taking on 2 projects at once stresses me out, but I know of several people who are doing similar things with their NaNo deadline. :)

Peace.

I'm a ridiculous multi-tasker. On top of NaNo, I'm in a short story competition (gonna work on that once I'm done with this post) along with planning a writing project for December and working on a novel my best friend and I have been writing since March. I think I need a nap...

I have a novel I'm working on, but it's annoyed me and petered at 1021. Seriously.
I also have my short story project that was supposed to be a side project, but the first story I started yesterday I'm still working on over 5k later, which is really rare since almost all of my short stories are normally under 1k. In fact, this story may end up being an upper grade chapter book sometime next year when I go back and edit.. It's what it's developing into anyway.

I may be. Am trying to talk myself out of it, especially since I'm already ridiculously behind on word count. Watch this space.

You're not alone. In addition to NaNo, I'm trying to keep my blog updated, write as a contributor for multiple sites, redesign a couple sites, complete a photographic Project 365. and keep up with life in general. (TONS of birthdays, anniversaries, etc. this month, too!) I'm pretty swamped and brain spinning. But I will not be deterred! LOL!

I've got my main novel I've been working on for awhile now. I have a problem finishing things so I joined NaNoWriMo as an exercise in completion. So I've got those two things going. And of course my blog which I guess counts as writing, too, but is so different from fiction that I somehow don't count it.

I keep thinking fondly of the NaNo novel that I barely got off the ground last year and that I may switch back to it (it only has 2 paragraphs). And I've got several novels/stories started that I *could* work on. But I'm not right now.

No, you're not abnormal or insane. You're a writer. You live to write; you write to live. Be proud of it! =)
