I set myself a crazy word war goal last year--I wanted to get 1667 words in a 15 minute word war (the daily requirement)--and I did it! 1681. I just felt like sharing my triumph! Madness!

Anyone else did anything crazy and unexpected yet?

Well, getting out of that 1200 word rut. But then everyone expected I'd get out of it. But wow, 1667 words in 15 minutes is amazing! You are also amazing with that super duper word count of yours! As I'm writing this you're at 26,176. I can't wait until you 50K, it's going to be awesome! :)

One hundred and twelve words per minute. Man, at this rate I'll be at 50k in a few days. Yet I'm not really happy with the story, or the quality of it. =(

YESSS! I did it.

It was my goal this year to write the required 50,000 words in only 5 Days...By hand. This is by far the most rediculous thing I have ever attempted. Now that I have that behind me I look towards the 100k plateau next. Now I must excuse myself to go ice my wrist, arm, shoulder and neck.

How many pens died for your cause? How many more must you slaughter?!

In other news, GO RYAN!

I did 1047 words in one 15 minute word war, which I thought was pretty crazy, but y'all beat me for sure!

That is nothing to sneeze at! 70 words per minute constantly for 15 minutes while writing fiction? That's awesome!

It took me five years of word warring to get to an average of 1500 per word war, after all.

One year I started strong and ended strong, but had major lapses in between. Another year I didn't write on weekends, just weekdays. This year my approach is the basic 1,667 words per day. Day 6 and it's so far, so good. My word count is over 10,300.

I can type maybe 45 words per minute at best, so in a 15-minute word war, best case scenario is 675, maybe 700 on a really good day.
