Bonjour! Desolée j'ecrit en anglais, mon francais, c'est terrible. :)

I'm a Finnish writer writing a novel about twins who hear their mother has died in Marseille. She had been living there for several years. For maximum realism, I'd like you to help me decide an address for her and her french boyfriend ;).

She was a 40-something, internationally acclaimed artist, so I'm looking for a bohemian yet trendy neighborhood. Because of plot reasons, it should be within 2 km from Galeries Contemporaines des Musée de Marseille and somewhat near water. Also if you have suggestions on restaurants, bars, cafés she would be likely to visit often, they're most welcome - the stylish places where the art crowd goes.

I visited Marseille briefly last year, so I have a bit of a feel of the city but don't know it well enough yet... So thank you so much in advance for your help! Merci beaucoup!

the problem is that i think the museum of modern art in marseille is out in a kind of far off suburb, well away from trendy neighbourhoods. int he centre of town I'd say they must live at Cours Julien or La Plaine, its a trendy art/bohemian neighbourhood.

out near the gallery its near the sea but kind of a rich neighbourhood and not particularly interesting for art/trendy types. couldnt you invent a gallery in the centre of town?

a couple like that would definitely go to Espace Julien (a concert hall) or some of the more chic wine bars on the vieux port
