Since the Saturday afternoon Mo'Joe write-ins were by far our most heavily attended last year, and they have limited space, please let me know here if you plan to attend. The first one is this Saturday from 2:30 until whenever you want to stay. The writer's group (social group) technically begins at 5:30, but you're free to keep writing if you're so inspired.
Mo'Joe Coffeehouse
222 W. Michigan St.
Indianapolis, IN 46204
There is some parking in front, and ample parking behind the building (off of Senate).
Thank you, and happy writing :)

I'll be there this and every week, barring blizzards/earthquakes/will readings of long-lost and impossibly wealthy relatives who secretly always liked me best. Count me and my writing fingers in!

I work on campus at IUPUI from 9-5 on Saturdays, so I can't be there before about 5:15, but I'm definitely up for stopping in and having a social cup of coffee at that point.

BTW, it looks like I will have an extra laptop (Mac Powerbook) available for some laptop-less person to use at the write-in. Just bring a flash/thumb/whatever drive with you. It has MS Word on it, fully compatible with the Windows version. First come, first served. ;-)

I HAVE A LAPTOP NOW!!!!
Finally, I have embraced the 21st century and all of the joys of mobile computing. And it's as good as everyone always said it was.
The point is that I can finally sit and type in a coffee shop, and I find that very exciting. I hope to be there on Saturday, hopefully during the afternoon. Hopefully, the homework will allow some social time/writing-in.
Looking forward to seeing you all there!! ^_^

Yea, I was just reading about that. You should be able to get there from the west, but I don't know know which streets will be closed. It should be about wrapping up by 2:30. We shall see. ;-)

Wow -- I've just been looking at the course and trying to determine what roads might be shut down, and I'll be amazed if I can manage to get anywhere near the place at 2:30. Looks like I'll be parking a bit further away and walking.

I would love to but I will probably have to miss it. I will be at a church conference most of the day. But if I still feel perky by then, I may drive down around 5.

Hey, is it cool with everyone if I just issue a pre-apology to anyone I met last year by confirming that I will almost definitely not remember your name?
Yes?
Good. Thank you.

No problem. ;-) Though as soon as I saw your post, I immediately remembered what you look like. Now, of course, I've forgotten. But for that instant I knew exactly who you were. ;-)
You know where to find us, anyway. ;-)
And I also don't remember, is your real name David? Or are you another one with David in your user name who is not named David? (e.g. David_West = Matt).

Well, I think I look a bit different than last year. Pretty sure last year my head was shaved. This year I'm growing it out. Hoping for a ponytail by July.
And yes, my real name is David although I tend to introduce myself as Strange. I answer to either. One of the downsides of having the nickname "Strange" is that when you say, "Hi, I'm Strange," people hear it as an adjective instead of a moniker and assume that you're one of those irritating attention-seekers that revels in being countercultural. And yet if I said, "Hi, I'm Rich," very few people would assume that I have lots of money.

Well, I will NOT be there this week, the 7th. This shouldn't be a surprise because I can never come :( I can't come the 21st either but will try my darnedest for the other 2 Sats this month (and will RSVP for those as they near, if I can make it).
I was at Mo Joe's last night for the first time ever. It's a pretty awesome place! I was reading for the IUPUI Student Reading competition (well, I read in the opener then was camera chic for the contest) and saw so many people huddled over laptops, managing to ignore the throng of cheering students, stage, and microphone. I kept wondering, "Do they NaNo?"
Anyhow, have a great 1st Saturday write-in without me. Maybe next week I can join you!!

I can't make it, either. Seems like I have something every Saturday this month. I'll be lucky to make the TGIO get-together.
Have fun and remember to write, too. :)

yami, I have a laptop, too! Technically it's a netbook, but it's all the same for my purposes. We may actually substantially increase our word counts... (drum roll)... in public.
Sadly I'll be in Fort Wayne this weekend and won't be able to make it to Mo'Joe. The next two weeks, though, I am so very there. It's funny that my first year writing, I grumbled about going downtown, and now I practically twitch from withdrawal if I miss a week.

I'll see you all next week, though.

I'll be there, every Saturday, except for the 14th. (I say that now, but I don't know how much will change.) I showed up last year once, and really enjoyed. I've been looking forward to this for a year now, so definitely count me in!
(Sorry for such a late notice. Had a paper to write and get out of the way, before I decided to say whether or not I'd show.)
Update: I'll be bringing another body along, if I can drag it!

For anyone who is sitting around at home/in a dungeon/at a casino or any other place less fun than a write-in and wondering "Should I go ahead and go down to Mo'Joe's? I mean, it's so late and all."
Well, there are about nine of us here pecking and pounding away at keyboards, and no one has said they are leaving anytime soon. Stop in, say hello, then stop talking and start writing.
