Hey everyone! Sorry the thread is late today; I was at a funeral and just got home. Theoretically I now have a good block of time to write, since I'm not at work, but I'm having trouble getting into it. My goal for the day is 10,000. |

Looks like things are going really well for you guys! I'm pretty behind, as of today, (And yesterday, too... Hurg.) but I'm still ticking away at it. It's been tough keeping focused. If I can get up over 5k today, I'll be really happy with myself. Good luck, people!

Between having friends from out of state up this weekend and they didn't head back till yesterday, and the fact that last night I felt simply wretched, my word count as of this morning was a rather pitiful 245. just enough to say that I had actually started writing something before I collpased for bed.
However I'm hoping tonight goes much better. Right now I'm taking a think break for how to phrase the next part that I see so clearly in my head. I'm hoping to get a heckofalot done tonight. Not sure exactally how many words that is, but that's what I'm aiming for

ahhhh...it was going so well and the plot decides to take a turn down horror genre alley... why did she have to find that box full of strange files in that closet?? why? I guess i have to keep writing to find out! :-D

I'm at 5055 or thereabouts at the moment, but I'm beginning to be worried that just keeping pace each day is going to seriously damage my long-term chances. Still, I'm feeling good about my outline and things are lining up nicely. I'd like to 'discover' a few more plot turns or subplots here or there, but at least I haven't had to beat my head against the wall yet. I'm actually a little curious to see where my main character is headed. He seems to be resisting the simple role I had carved out for him.

Today was much better. Got out around 2050 words. I'm still behind but will hopefully make that up this weekend. Story is progressing more slowly than I was expecting. I'm over 3500 and most of my main characters haven't even been introduced yet. Ah well. I guess I'm getting warmed up before any of the action starts.
