We all get them. You're writing along and then you get that tickling thought, "I should really reorganize my bookshelves." Then it won't go away. And you come up with a hundred other things you want to try, or really need to be done, but you have to stomp on it immediately and make it go away!

So, tell us! What are the random activities you think of during NaNo to procrastinate instead of writing?

Here's some of mine:

- Give my cats a bath.
- Pile up all the pillows/blankets/stuffed animals in the house and jump on them.
- Study for mid-terms (which are in January)
- Reread all of Tamora Pierce's books.
- Figure out how much jello it would take to fill my bedroom...

Need information about northern Maine. duct tape, puppeteering, Christianity, tiny rural towns, babysitting, twins, OCD, vegetarianism, medicine, or hospitals? Just send me a NaNoMail and I'll tell you more than you ever wanted to know.

^ Reese, you are totally my hero for being a Tamora Pierce fan. :D Plus making an awesome pile to jump on!

Mine would be:
- Help all of my neighbours on FarmVille o___o
- Complete as many Facebook memes as possible.
- Teach everyone I know how to crochet.
- Organise the pots and pans in the kitchen
- Marathon Boy Meets World
- Take over the univer- err, wait.

I'd love to start learning how to knit something functional, rather than a messy square of pretty colors. Or start reading another Mrs. Murphy Mystery, which I haven't read in years.

But since I would feel guilty doing either of those things -- yet I still don't want to write for NaNo -- I sit and do nothing.

(Not completely true; I was on the road and away from a keyboard from 11:00-5:00.)

Right this second, instead of writing I'm watching Ace of Cakes. Also basking in the glory of having a driver's license.

Congrats Ellie! :D

And I seriously thought about cleaning my room instead of writing today. Seriously thought about it.

Didn't do it, but thought about it.

Scary enough.

We're all so proud of Ellie, but that now means she has no excuse for missing any Write_ins anywhere in the state!

Kidding!!!

I keep thinking I should do things like...

- Cook supper
- Work
- Read something enjoyable
- Clean the last rat cage that Stacy didn't get to
- Fill the pellet stove
- Walk the dog
- Moderate the forums I'm supposed to be moderating
- Paint my Blazer with wild creatures and patterns!

Sadly my list only contains one thing that's strange and frivolous. I'm one sad WriMo ML!

Well...Even though I only write at night, these are my daytime battles.

*Pack (we're moving on Nov 14--great timing! :P )
*Wash the stinky dog
*Do Cub Scout plans for December
*Get outside and see sunshine
*Probably cook a meal, at some point

I actually have to read all of Frankenstein by Friday. :(

I mean, I'm pumped to read Frankenstein, but that on top of all my other homework, a Calculus exam, classes, three work shifts...and my NaNo.

*sigh*...

I should really probably get started on it soon.

If anyone in the Orono area wants to plan a fun get together to de-stress already? Let me know. Unfortunately, it can't be until all said stressers are gone.

PS: Ken, the last thing on your list made me smile. Haha. :]

- Give the dog a bath (I really do need to...)
- Put away AND wash all the dishes in the kitchen (my sister usually does the putting away and I take care of the dirty dishes)
- Make cookies/pie/several loaves of bread
- Cut up all the squash sitting in plastic tubs in the basement (Dad's supposed to be doing this, and he's hinted that I shouldn't do it because I might chop a finger off, also, I generally hate anything to do with processing food o.O )
- Study for the SAT Subject Tests coming up on Saturday (well, I suppose I should do that...)
- Read (this one is a recurring one that keeps dragging me away from the computer, I'm going to ruin our reputation as rapid readers but I don't dare start a book)
- Paint gold Autobot symbol on Mom's new car (she okayed that but fortunately drives Prime to work, so no worries about that happening anytime soon)
