I know...this poor diary of a first year teacher is NEVER going to get written.

I'm basically employing "writing as therapy" and writing out all the drama that's been going on in a certain situation. It's what I was going to fictionalize to begin with. Now I'm just gonna write it and not worry about fictionalizing it...time to do that if it seems a publishable story. I figure the words should come easy.

I hope...

Don't be afraid to trust what works for you. I'm a strong supporter of slightly autobiographical novels for NaNoWriMo. They're great because you don't get stuck on plot problems or characterization because you already know the story.

Good luck on your change of plans!
You can do it!

Thanks!

Like I said, I'm basically just writing it as-is right now. If I think the ultimate concept has publishing potential, I'll spend editing time changing the world in which these characters exist and changing names and stuff so it's not quite so obvious if people involved were to read a published version. (Though I'd also be banking on Jennifer Weiner's contention that the people the really bad ones in a novel are based on are far less likely to a) either think it's them or b) ask if it's them because then your basic response will be "Why would you say that?". Anne Lamott's trick of giving the bad guy a really small...member...could work too. :P

I'm holding onto the other 7600 words I wrote and if necessary at the end of the month, I'll tack those on to hit 50K...I did write them in November after all!!!
