Total Immersion = 3D Characters

This is my first NaNo. It's hard, but I'm having a blast. Spending hours every day with my characters allows them to talk to me, tell me things about themselves. Yesterday I wrote out a lengthy synopsis, and the protagonist's best friend told me she is in a witness protection program....she has a whole other identity I didn't realize! It will be an interesting new angle to the story.

This was a pleasant surprise!
