2pm
Saturday
Robert Harris
I'll try and reserve the big table at the back of Robert Harris each week - otherwise I'll bring along my big fluorescent yellow ML shirt or a NaNoWriMo book (No plot? No problem!) to make it a little more obvious who we are. So just go around looking at all the groups' tables to see which we are. No one will think you're weird. ;-)
Bring your laptop or pen and paper for word wars or writing games, depending on how things go!
I'll also try and organise a buddy system at the meet-up this coming Saturday (7 Oct) so all newbies will hopefully have an "oldie" to buddy up with. If you're keen for that, leave a message in this thread and I'll have a list of buddies ready for Saturday!
I'll be bringing different freebies along to each meet-up - but I have VERY limited numbers of these, so the sooner you're there, the likelier you are to get freebies! I also may be giving out prizes for word war winners, etc, so come prepared to write!
Any questions? Ask!
And I look forward to seeing you all at the meet-ups! :-)

Whoa, that's weird. It totally erased the first three lines of my post, which were:
2pm! Saturday! Robert Harris!
Geez, talking about wiping the most important part of the post. Weird!

Saturday 2 pm, Robert Harris, got it!
Don't think I need a buddy, mingling with everyone should do the trick! I have the coolest laptop ever too :)
(Now if only the super-sized spare battery for it that I ordered almost two weeks ago arrives, I'll be able to write for hours!)

Hehe cool. The buddy thing is totally optional - I mentioned it last year and everyone seemed pretty keen, but if you don't want one that's great too. :-)
Bring laptops! I'll hunt out some prizes for word war winners/first person there/etc. :-)
Spare battery: GOOD idea.
EDIT: ...whoops, just found out how to update the top post. Oh well. *grins sheepishly*

I will not, unfortunately, be taking part in the reindeer fun and games this week, as I have a Prior Commitment. Next week, perhaps!

Arse and bastardry, I am undone. Willnot be available today, as was expecting Sunday. Still, means I can mow the1/2 of the lawn on Sunday afternoon (my rubbish enviromower lacking the guts to tackle the whole thing after 6 of unchecked months of growth) and pull up weeds. Happy days ...

If anyone cannot meet up on Saturdays. I am happy to meet up on Sundays instead or as well as Saturdays.
Except this coming Sunday (14th)

Ugh, I may not be able to make it today - I feel icky :-(
I'm hoping I'll feel better this afternoon, but even if I do I haven't managed to write anything so far this morning and may have to put myself under house arrest to get the 15k I need today (ARGH).
Which means I should go and write, now, doesn't it? Yes. Yes, it does.

*Curses loudly*
My computer has decided I'm not going anywhere today. If anyone needs me, I'll be manufacturing incendiary devices to mail Microsoft in between reboots >_<

I think it was just a combination of a very late night and skipping breakfast in the morning. I clean forgot to eat until nearly lunch time *facepalm* Glad I managed to make it anyway though XD
ETA: I hope your novel is safely backed up and your computer feels better soon, Walkiry. Add an extra incendiary device from me, would you? Microsoft nearly cost me my entire 90k yesterday >.<

To be honest, now that they are official 'write ins' rather than just general social chitchat whinge sessions about our characters and plots and families and computers and so on, I've lost enthusiasm for the weeklies ... Just not my thing. And yes, I know I could go and ... er ... not write, and instead do general social chitchat whinge sessions about our characters and plots and families and computers and so on, but it just wouldn't seem right.
Feel free to pass my whining up to the powers that be, Ruth.

Oh that makes me really sad! :-( I'm sorry... if it helps, I've never done any writing at any of the write-ins!
Maybe we could have separate meet-ups and write-ins? Like, do meet-ups/whinge sessions on Saturdays and dedicated writing-only write-ins on Sundays?
How would that work for people?
I'm so sorry to hear that lurgee, I for one really appreciate it when you come to the meet-ups, and I've missed you at the last couple of meet-ups!
If separate days for write-ins and meet-ups don't work, maybe we could split the meeting up? I know we usually meet for about two hours - so maybe we could do 2-3pm general chat/whining, and 3-4pm writing? Then if you don't want to do the social thing, you could just come to the writing, and vice versa?
How do you guys feel? What would your preference be?

Personally, I love coming in to chat, and bringing my notebook along knowing that nobody at the table thinks I'm weird for jotting things down as I think of them XD I don't tend to get much writing done when there's a temptation to talk, though, I have to admit, so maybe having the meet-up and write-in separate would work better. Whatever's easiest/most convenient for the highest number is fine with me, though.

I'd say leave things as they are ... I don't see why people should have to accomodate cussed sods like me. Two sessions a week would just divide people up and our alreadys small group would be even smaller ... Anyway, there is no certainty that I'd be able to make sessions at other times, so please don't indulge me. While the lawn is looking civilised, that's just highlighted how tall and unappealing the weeds in the 'flowerbeds' are. So I have little free time.
I might swallow my grumbles (nothing like swallowing your words to give you indigestion. Only thing worse is humble pie. Ugh.) and try to get along on Saturday.

oOo! I can make the small group one person bigger possibly as I'm going to be dog sitting in palmy for the next two weeks. If I'm around on the weekends I'll come to write ins :)

I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER!
Compuer's fixed, thankfully I run a tight ship and had backups (note the plural) of everything important, plus I keep the system disk separate from everything else. But now I have a cold!!
And the freaking coughing is giving me a hell of a headache, I literally can't think straight through the plot. Grrrargh!
I see long marathons when I get better *grumble*

That wouldn't be a Windows 7 related problem, would it? Because since we installed W7 our computer hasv only been working when it feels like it.
Any tech types out there who are willing to impart free advice? Other than "Buy a Mac."

Nope, Windows XP. What can I say, I'm a luddite.
Buying a Mac would be a silly solution IMO. If you're going to use an incompatible OS, you may as well install Linux, which is free and doesn't require a new computer :) I mostly use Windows because I'm also a gamer, otherwise I use Linux.
But unfortunately I can't help with Windows 7, haven't touched it yet. Sorry :(

I weep big manly tears when I remember how easy life was with XP. Then came the horror of Vista, amd now the trauma of Windows7 - which I must say looks fantastic, the one time in ten I can get the bloody thing to work.
