Hi,
I'm happily writing along, oblivious to how many words I'm supposed to reach to be "on track." I know it's something like 1667 words/day, but I can't find a handy dandy chart thingy anywhere.
Anyone have something they use to track daily progress? I'm a visual learner/motivator. I need to see forward progress.
Thanks!
Trixie

I found a pdf chart that will serve my needs. It doesn't have actual word numbers per day listed, but it's a graph and the line is pretty self explanatory.
Bottom line: I'm behind but not worried. Well, kind of worried, but not too much.

I've got an excel spreadsheet I made:
Date| Min word count| Word balance| Daily % |Total %
All the data is filled out, just update the word balance and the rest fills in.

I'm just using this as the background on my laptop. It has how many words per day you must get, and it gives you a witty comment every day!

Actually, scratch that last message. There's a bunch to offer in the NaNo Technology forum. Here's the first one I saw. http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/3311432

I made an excel spreadsheet with entries for "before breakfast" "after work" and "before bed" for each day. I enter my word count at the end of each of those periods, since those are the general times I have for writing. As a general guide where I should be, I've got another column that adds 556 each row. So far, after only 1 session have I been "caught up." I've got another column that subtracts the "how far behind are you" after one session from the previous session to find out how much ground I gained or lost. So far, my "before bed" sessions are the best, since that's when I've got the most time.

Thanks, everyone! I have successfully killed about an hour reading, posting, and now playing with one of the download-able spreadsheets. :)
So so so far behind. Must. Keep. Writing.
Actually, I need the World Series to end so I can focus on this. The link about free pie tonight is mighty tempting!
