You see, I'm LITERALLY one word away from the winning point....but i'm so nervous! I can't finish without getting the jitters first! (Plus the fact that after I type the 50000th word....the story it STILL far from finished!)

So! I started my second Nano story for this year ^_^

This thread is sorta like the What's your first line thread, but I NEED MORE THAN THE FIRST LINE!!!! ^_^ I'm too curious! So, here's the striking opening of my second '09 Nano Novel ^_^:

“One mustn’t complement an honest dame, Milord, lest she use it to many an advantage, if the will arises.” Elena graced Count Lucian’s presence with a flick of her flowing gown.

“If an honest dame were to take advantage of her Lord, Ms. Noleé, then wouldst thou really be a dame?” Lucian replied.

Elena chuckled. “Would they? Who’s to say?” She chuckled once more. “Would the stars tell of such things?”

“Methinks not, Elena, ‘twill be up to the dame in question, would you not agree?”

“Oh, I very much do, Milord.” She then proceeded in convincing him of her point.

I like it!

Although, compliment is the spelling you're wanting.

And I love the name Elena (of course, I would --- I use it as my online moniker elsewhere -- Spanish for my middle name, Elaine).

And I love the name Lucian (I'm an Underworld fan), so I'm curious to find out what this count is like. Dark and mysterious?

So... what form is her "convincing" going to take: seduction, sword/knife/dagger, or feminine wiles w/out touching him?

Who are they to each other? How do they know each other? And how did they get into this interesting conversation? What brings them together? What would keep them apart? Who is on their side? Who is against them? Does Count Lucian have a rival? Or is he the enemy?

I'm so good at asking questions about others' stories... not so great at doing the same for myself.

I'd really like to read this one when you finish it.

Glad you've got a second project to work on. See you at the write-ins! =)

*laughs* I'm soooo nervous!!! I finished 50 K in 4 days! XD

I have NO life! So many questions! all will be revealed!! (oh, and I hadn't noticed that minor spelling error, thanks ^_^)

I'm winging it on this one- unlike with my first story (See my NaNo page)- so I can't honestly say I know what willhappen to my oh, so vivid characters....but I DO know that I louuuuuurrrrve mysterious openings that make people as questions, because it makes them WANT to continue reading my story! So I make sure it's always like this! ^_^ Thanks for the qustions! They actually help me out with plot production in the long run, and give my characters further depth! I'm sooo excited!

ps, I typed 49999 of my first novel, then started on my second novel.....*gasps* does this mean that with the combination of my forst story and my second story, that I've typed over 50K!? O.O!
