Does anyone know where I can find a local critique group? I know it might be too early but it's never too early to begin looking. I think the closest one to me is in Baltimore but I'm in PG county...

The Greenbelt Writers Group has a critique subgroup that I have attended off and on. They have a web page. Write again if you need more info.

I have another recommendation.

Do you attend write-ins? I know of people who have met through NaNo write-ins and now have writing/critique groups. That includes me (though our group is full).

I bet you could find other local writers at a write-in and end up with a great group. Just see who fits the bill.

Good luck - I think it is not too early to consider this necessary ingredient to successful writing and publishing.

After November's over, you should check out the critique groups within The Maryland Writers' Association. http://www.marylandwriters.org/critique.html

I run the MWA critique group in Harford County. We meet every third Thursday, 6:30pm, in the Havre de Grace library. PM me if interested.

The Harford Writers' Group does critiquing at their monthly meetings. Bel Air Barnes and Noble, check the store's webpage for the schedule.

For poetry critiquing, there's the Harford Poetry and Literary Society. http://harfordpoetrysociety.org/

Ukazoo Books has writers' groups meeting in their store. http://www.ukazoo.com/events.htm

Keep scribbling, and remember to donate to NaNo.

Thank you for your responses. I live in PG county and might want to attend your group in Howard County if it's not too far. I'm searching for a write in now so hopefully I will be able to ask around then as well.

Happy typing everyone. My right hand is badly bruised so tonight is an off night for me. Looks like I'll have a lot of make up to do this weekend...

Pat - Sorry I missed the write-in Wednesday. I was in migraine hell. I'll e-mail you or PM you with the details. We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, so this coming Tuesday.
