We all have to take breaks from writing. I do it often. I either go to class or just sit next to my husband. Other then today...oh dear...I typed something else. It's all because I was listening to a song called, "What time is it?" It's from High School Musical 2 soundtrack. When I came up with this lovely song...it's to the tune of What time is it.

What time is it?
Nano time
It’s our writing
What time is it?
Writing time
That’s right, say it loud

What time is it?
The time of our lives
Anticipation
What time is it?
Nano time
It’s midnight, scream and shout!

Finally November’s here
Good to be writing out
I’m off the clock
The pressures on
Now my MC what it’s all about

Ready for some darkness
For my hands to take a chance
I’m here to write
Not movin’ away
Ready for a character romance

Everybody ready, going crazy, yeah we’re out
Come on and let me hear you say it now, right now.

What time is it?
Nano time
It’s our writing
What time is it?
Writing Time
That’s right, say it loud

What time is it?
The time of our lives
Anticipation
What time is it?
Nano time
It’s midnight, scream and shout!

Goodbye to dinners
No clean house
I’m free to stay up till I drop
It’s an writing experience

And the writing never has to stop

We’ve got a plot to do
We’ll see you soon

And we’re really gonna miss you all

Goodbye to you and you

And you and you

Bye bye until December

Bye Bye

Everybody ready going crazy yeah we’re out
Come on and let me hear you say now right now

What time is it?
Nano time
It’s our writing
What time is it?
Writing Time
That’s right, say it loud

What time is it?
The time of our lives
Anticipation
What time is it?
Nano time
It’s midnight, scream and shout!

Lots more wakin’ up at 5 am
‘Cause now is our time to write…

Enough already, we need to write

Out of control

All right
Everybody
Yeah
Come on

Nano pride lets show it
We’re novelist and we know it
Wrimos
Are the best
Black white and blue

When it’s time to win we do it
We’re number one we proved it
Let’s live it up
Write Down
That’s what the Nanowrimo’s all about

What time is it?

Nanowrimo is finally here

Let’s celebrate

Wanna hear you loud and clear now

Typing is On

We can sleep as little as we want to

It’s our time

Now we can do whatever we write

What time is it?
It’s Nano Time
We’re lovin’ it
Come on and type again now
What time is it
It’s Writing time
Let’s go and have
The time of our lives

I can't take little breaks, if I do I have trouble coming back. On Mondays I have a very small window for writing as I have a young son who has boy scout meetings to attend. But if I have a pause I eat dinner and talk to my hubby, mostly asking him questions pertaining to my novel. I have to go to bed early because I have to be at work at 6:30 in the morning, I am not a morning person, but I make it work. I get off in time to pick up my son and have the afternoon to myself which is good. For now though writing is taking up the bulk of my time, which is good, I need to be writing ;P

The family needs come first.
Otherwise I
research for the book
have company for dinner,
read
spin

Yesterday I was spinning away on some Jacob Sheep wool that's a beautiful brown color and bam the climax on my stories problem came to me. So here this morning I am writing chapters and chapters away from where I was working. I feels good so it must be write. I'll just fill in the details, I guess.

This kind of reminds me of what my husband says about writing curriculum. First have your problem you have to solve (what the student needs to learn), make goals of them, then write test questions that prove they have learned it and lastly develop the curriculum.

I love spinning because it puts my mind in a very different rut then what my problems are in and it seems to free up that part of the brain to solve it's problems.
