i came to the event at literti cafe, wednesday eve 7-10 (presently 8:59.) many hipster westsiders with laptops and i'm trying to figure who is nanowrimo but can't tell. i cast surreptitious glances at others and maybe they at me. standard animals at the watering hole behavior. feeling shy, i'm not approaching anyone. how do these things go? this is my first nanowrimo. i'm a little shy tonight and bleary eyed from writing my eyes out. and it's a little loud here. but this is a bright, lit-friendly place to hunker down for long stints and nobody seems to mind. (bought a jumbo hot chocolate--was gone in seconds.) does anyone know will this be a recurring meeting place? wednesday nights? anyway, i like it and plan to return--why not--wednesday nights 7-10. hope to cross paths with others here. write on!

We were there, but I think we all left at about 9:00 after two hours of writing. I put a NaNoWriMo sign on the edge of our table, but I guess it was hard to see. There were five of us, although one sat at a table near a plug, and Dalboz had a computer malfunction, and the other three of us were at two shoved together tables near the middle. Sorry you missed us, but we'll be back there. I might go again tomorrow night.

omg! That table was you guys. I came around 7:20ish and I thought it was the table with the four of you (two of you were on those green keyboard thingys with the small screens, right?) at it but I couldn't see anything that said NaNo on it so I sat in a corner near a plug and kept glancing at you guys periodically to see if I could see/hear anything NaNo related. I should have just gone over and asked but I didn't want to seem really weird if you weren't NaNo'ers.
If you do decide to go tomorrow night I'll probably come as well.

I posted this in the Grand Write-In thread, but to make sure it's seen, I'll post it here, too:
I'd like to try again tonight, but with a little more preparation. Is there still going to be a write-in tonight? If so, could I ask a huge favor? If I'm not there already (and please confirm that it's happening, too, if you don't mind; I'm easy to spot; longish dark blond hair, a beard, and probably wearing a black hoodie), could someone stake out a table that has easy access to an outlet? My laptop battery is pretty much dead. If not, I'll bring a notebook and write the old fashioned way by hand then type it up later, but it would be a big help if I could just plug in the laptop.

i regret i was too stupidly shy and nerdy to ASK if you were nano-ers. also i just wanted to write write write and feared i might get distracted by the social element. yet i liked the thought that nanoers were near. i will definitely go back next wednesday night. i will get there at 7 and try to get a good sized table near a plug. to see what i look like, click on gdcbooks. i left last week around 9 as well. but maybe til 10 next week if i don't fry out sooner. another thing...if people are interested in coming--i don't know if it was specific to that evening but when i got there at 7 there were still open tables around. they soon filled up and stayed that way as the night went on. so to get there earliesh seems good. this is a lively bright spot to write at any ole time. good vibe. a little bit expensive for my pockets but i ate before and enjoyed the cocoa. cheers : D

Someone just needs to stand up and announce they are a noveler next time to avoid any confusion. I was there, in my own little corner. That place was packed to the brim when I got there around 7:30.
