Hey, in my case, discipline sometimes needs a date and place other than "home". Anybody want to make a date to get together at the Greenhoue, or the SweetSpot to hangout and write? (I'm a first year Nano... is this what they mean by "write in"?)

Saturdays and Sundays are my only availability, afternoons or evenings... any interest?

Hi Christine. I just sat down and saw this today - sorry! I'm busy today and tomorrow (why, oh WHY do my friends finally decide to be sociable in November? EVERY November??) and, actually, all next week, too. *sigh* Maybe next Saturday/Sunday sometime? Sorry again.

PS - good luck on the novel! Plug away, plug away.

Listen... Listen! LISTEN! I like that.

This weekend wa screwed for me, weekdays are impossible, I commute to MKE, get home very late, do have a family to recall and speak with a few minutes each day, so forth. Next weekend would be ideal. Writing this weeked not so much as it should have been, but still a few thousand words. Fits and starts.

You too, write, write, write, anything, donlt look back, doinlt second guess. Gems in the straw. Turds too, but we wonlt dwell on that!

Sat or Sun , Nov 14 or 15?

WRITE--Christine

Hi Christine!

My week exploded on me and I just finally got back to my (er - well, my mom's) computer.

Today got eaten up by my mom's work. I have my 5yo sister literally ALL DAY, and she is completely non-conducive to writing/reading/thinking/conversation/etc. Cute, yes. Attention-deprived, no. Believes she is? Definitely. I'm paying too much attention to the computer and the cat right now, and this isn't going to last much longer.

Tomorrow (Sunday 11/15) I *think* I'm free in the afternoon. I don't know where the SweetSpot is, but the Greenhouse is on Main Street kinda across from the Campus Shell gas station, right? Is it still called Campus Shell? Wow, and people frequently mistake me for observant.

Sorry this is such late notice! I always *mean* to plan ahead ...

Never mind, never mind, the weekend got away from me too. The Sweet Spot is by the Fire station right on Cravath Lake... where the fair always sets up. Lots of great writing space, tables, couches. Maybe this Sunday, you think? 11/22?

My godz, you have over 30K words? You are AMAZING. I have fallen so far behind, letting things take up my time and attention. Living things, fortunately, not inanimate objects.... I am slightly comforted by that.

Good on ya!

Hi Christine,

A write-in is beginning to look COMPLETELY impossible. Ever. *sigh* The world blew up, here. A friend had a crisis, another friend (ANOTHER one! can you BELIEVE it?!) decided to be sociable, my mom's clients decided to want her to work (leaving me with the cute, attention-sucking 5yo sister) ALL THE TIME. *AND* since it is now very close to Thanksgiving, I'm working in a two-week streak. I'm sorry!

On the positive side: I am no longer completely bored with my Nano. I hit 30,000 and didn't WANT to write any more. :-O That lasted almost a full WEEK. I realized yesterday (while I was supposed to be paying attention to the customers) that I now *have* to write 2,000 every day or I won't finish. I always think I'm going to come out ahead. Pfft.

*singsong* I wish the real world would just stop hassling me!

PS
I hope you get to have a nice Thanksgiving. I will be at work all day. Then I'll come home and hopefully WRITE. There will probably be some sort of turkey involved - maybe intravenous.
