Help - I need a cool name for a cat in my novel.
It's a normal everyday tabby cat that loves to sit on laps.
I need something a little different since other characters in the book are shapeshifting mountain lions.
And my brain hurts too much to come up with a cat name.
I mean the only idea I came up with was Snuggles. (bad, huh?)
Any ideas?

i used to have a cat named snoopy. he died a while ago, but i am sure he would be honored to know that his name lived on through our novel... and through the peanut's comic strip.

My cuddly furball is named Manitou. It's a spirit. We call her Moni. With the "aw" sound. I don't know if that helps. FYI, she's sitting three feet away staring at me, begging for permission to take over my lap as I type this.

I always liked the name Commodor Haughtypaws (but I got vetoed)
Two years ago we adopted a cat named Druska. She's sweet and loving but high maintenance in the regard she wants to be escorted to her food bowl. She'll sit with her back towards you, glancing occasionally over her shoulder, until you finally break down and get up so she can prance ahead of you.
Remember, dogs have owners, cats have staff.

Buster is a cool name.
I love my darling Buster a week ago today. He would love to live on in your novel. Look, he loves to read, too!

Okay, Ana, you get your wish. The snuggly lap cat will be Buster, in memory of your kitty.
Maybe I should make him a black cat too. Hmm. Easily done.
Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Sorry - I felt that Snoopy was copyrighted. And a dog's name in my mind.
But thanks for the option. I appreciate it :)

Cat nicknames:
Furball - (I had a cat who named himself this; it was the only name he'd acknowledge)
Rat Catcher
Fuzz face
fuzz bucket
churper
moth catcher
fat cat
lard ball
Graceless (one of Furball's nicknames)
Puppy-Cat (Furball was a Hemmingway and they tend to have the super affectionate nature of a dog while maintaining a feline sense of self.)
psycho foo-foo ninja kitty of doom and/or doggie despair - that's a story in and of itself
hemerroid
You know that kind of psycho run/pounce/tail lash-lash/pounce thing cats do on occasion? My family calls that the cat being fairy riden. I almost named one my critters Cat Sith f(pronounced cat shee or cat see) for the fey cats.
