Good morning and happy Friday! Anyone have big plans for the weekend? Will you be able to devote a lot of time to writing, or will you be even busier than usual?

I did about 1200 this morning - now at 15,572. My goal for the day is 16,667 because that will mean I'm officially an extra day ahead. ;)

Starting the day at 12,393. I have a huge amount of work to do around the house so even thought I say I want to write 5k today it really may not happen. My plan is 10 - 20 minute sprints every hour and then getting back to the other work I have to do.

It's a good thing I'm completely comfortable with the idea of polishing the words in the next draft.

I'm around 14K and feeling pretty good. Word war check-in thread must go up soon. Exciting!

Now if I could only get my 2 MCs to hook up like they're supposed to... XD

Starting the day at 8,335, but I have big plans for today, since both the school papers I've been working on are finally FINISHED. Plus, I'm taking a day trip to New York tomorrow, so plenty of time to write on the bus.

Goal for the end of the day today is 14,000. Goal for the end of the weekend is 20k. We'll see!

well, I am up to 10,170 some words now. Guess I won't keep pace with Kat who is over 14000 words already. You must be a fast typist Kat! i am really going to have to push my story now, the climax, the edge of your seat moment has already happened!

I am finding that for me the challenge isn't finding time and it isn't typing speed. It is in moving the story forward. Kind of like keeping a conversation going with a friend after one has said what there is to say.

Got to 11K+ last night before crashing into sleep. More to go today. I LIKE the Excel worksheet. It's a real kick to see the anticipated completion date start creeping into the later days in November.
Smiles for all.

Still haven't started. Can't think of anything to get around being unable to print up and put together 5 rosters of professional wrestling stars.

Managed to get a lot out today. Around 8,000 words this morning! Twas a blast. Although, I started the morning feeling a little dry.

Check out the website to see what I did to curb my writer's block. Tell me, what do you do to inspire yourself when you're not feelin' it?

i'm aiming for 15K by sunday night. I'm behind because of work and karate, but I expected that and I'll catch up this weekend. I've got to stop pausing to do research too. i can go back and fix cultural errors in December! Maybe i'll try to crash the nashua write-in and boost my word count with a change of scenery.

I actually started over today...has anyone else discarded their original ideas? I just wasn't feeling it, so I've started anew. I am hoping I wont regret it -- I'll be behind for a few days but am confident that I'll be able to catch back up! Right now I am at 3100 with my new one. It's a tad bit discouraging, but I suppose I should get off the forums and get cracking!

I just pounded out about 700 words and I'm not done yet. Though, I would REALLY like to know where the heck my MC thinks she's going! She's falling in love with the wrong woman! She's supposed to fall in love with the woman from the ice cream shop, not the woman who owns the islands!

Oh well, at least she's cooperative in getting down on paper!

Well, having started late (didn't start until Tuesday!), I'm actually pretty happy with my progress. Was at a little over 6k earlier today, and now I'm close to 9k!!! Not too bad for not having really written much yesterday either.

I also found that this year seems to be going much easier because I'm not worrying so much about making it all run smoothly together. I'm starting a new chapter each time I change perspective or the character (I have 3 main characters and tons and tons of supporting ones). Finding that I can actually worry less about fluidity this year knowing that I can go back later when it's said and done and edit it to flow right. Right now it definitely reads like the disjointed memoir of a multiple personality ego attack.... but it won't when it's finished! I promise! :)

So happy that my muse has finally found it in his scaly little self to show back up full time this year! Now if he'd only stop showing up when I'm at work and have to concentrate on driving (I drive a special needs school bus) I'd be even happier!!! Hard to cocentrate on the road when there's a little voice whispering story ideas in your ear!

Didn't get squat done during my work day today, but came home, laid on the couch and stared at the ceiling until my fiancee came home. We went to do some shopping and on the way home I started telling her about what I had for plot and she helped me rearrange some of the pieces a bit so it clicked into place a little better. I have a clear goal for getting to a certain point and a framework for the rest. I want to get well beyond 10k tonight, but even if I don't, it is the weekend, after all.

I was also going to buy a laptop to aid the project, but it's just not in the cards. We really can't afford it right at the moment, so I'll just cobble it together and stick out the lack of scenery change. Discipline!

I've set up shop at Borders in Concord (my husband is working late and my apartment is lonely) and I'm not leaving until I break 10K!

Still nowhere near my goal of 10K . I know, I know, that's just keeping on track. But 10K doesn't seem so unattainable any more. I could catch up this weekend and maybe even get ahead. And the plot has thickened! It might actually go somewhere! I'm beginning to feel that there is something worthwhile lurking under all the stress and insecurity. Now if only my murder victim will tell me what is in that picture she kept looking at...

Megan-

Yep.
Trashed the original idea early in the week, and restarted in a completely different genre! Moving along much better, although today wasn't my best day.

Not the best day for me today. 1401 words is all I got. Puts me at 12518, which is still pretty good, but weekends are my worst writing times (so unlike many!). I don't have much time to myself like I do during the week. I figure I will just keep the story open on my desktop all day, and get in what I can!

Keep going, keep going!! Words are piling up, aren't they?

Haven't written a word since day 2. Plan on doing some catch up on Sunday, then everything's on hold again for another week. After that, I'll hopefully be free and clear to write.
I've got the Biology GRE tomorrow morning, two speeches to write for class, a vet school application with essays to write, Equine Affaire thursday through sunday. Just have to get through that, and on top of that, I'm battling the flu. Oh well, I knew going in this wasn't going to be my best year.

Augh! This was seriously my least productive day yet, I'm so behind! Alright, let's hope this weekend helps me boost the count!
