Anyone else want to do a write-in at LTF Lakeville? Their LifeCafe actually looks fairly conducive to a write-in, most of the food is reasonably priced, and they've got wi-fi.
So why a health club of all places? OK, I admit it... to rack up my visit quota (12! ugh!!) for the $20 discount on my monthly club fees from my health insurance. Plus it might be a good change of pace from the usual write-in environment.
I'm thinking maybe this weekend. I NEED to catch up in a big way.

That's a pretty good idea. It might help eliminate the decision of whether to go for a run and sit down and write. Nano seems to be at odds with my humble personal fitness goals.

I'm a member, but would other non-members be able to get there? Also, I might feel a bit weird going there to sit and write... Now if only my laptop would run in the steam room at the Woodbury LTF, that would be awesome...

Do they have outlets? Also can you get in to the cafe and hang out there without a membership? I don't have a membership there but if I can get in for free just to the cafe I would be interested in this tomorrow or Sunday.

@tsuacctnt: NaNo is a definite obstacle to getting to the club, and vice versa. It's only the first week and already I find myself dreading going to the club because it means less time to write.
@SynapticJam, SweetUsagi: Non-members could show up, but they would most likely have to go through the whole prospective member marketing talk. That's even if they show up as a guest. BTW, non-member hours are limited, and won't be allowed in after 8-9 pm, depending on the club. Laptops aren't too unusual at Lakeville. There was a lady in the cafe in there until after it closed. (Not sure if she was an employee or a member.) I think power is available, but I don't have any details on where the outlets may be.

What a fantastic idea! I'm a member at the JCC by my apartment, and it had not even occurred to me to go there for NaNo.
Holy crap. Thanks. Now I don't have to cancel my membership!

@BodiceGoddess: Love the excerpt!
OK, my Saturday completely blew apart... no writing today, so I'm even further behind.
Going to try hard to wriggle myself free tomorrow to do a short workout then pound the keys in the cafe. Not sure of exactly when yet, but it won't be before noon.

I just realized Thanksgiving is going to make a serious hit in my visit quota, so I'm going to have to make a special effort to hit the cafe--after checking in for credit toward my visit quota. ;)
To my surprise the cafe is open until 10 on weeknights. Too bad they close it down as early as 6-7pm on the weekend.

Camped out at LTF LV, in case anyone cares to join me. Hitting two quotas with one stone, and enjoying a tasty smoothy... a really nice change from coffee!!

If anyone cares to join me, I'm headed to LTF LV to write in the cafe. It closes at 6, and then I may either workout or go rest my weary hands in the hot tub.
Both of the bar-height tables have outlets for eight, not that I'm expecting fifteen of you to show up...
After that, I'll see where else I may end up writing. My weekend goal is 15K+, and I've got quite a ways to go...
