Okay, so I realized this years nano is hugely crap. The kind that can't be fixed without just starting over. I could quit, I could attenpt to start over (but I'd probably just end up in the same boat at the same point, so why bother?)

So I have decided not to quit. Instead, I will embrace the crap and let it flow from my fingers and finish NANO. *cheers*

Cheers!

if nothing else, after I get done with the whirlwind editing spree that will happen whenever I can finally stand to look at this book again once I'm done....well, maybe I'll have enough decent writing to cobble together a 2,000 word short story ;)

I'm with you! Hell yeah! My novel is so terrible, but hey, maybe I'll be able to make something from the elements of it somewhere.

My whole story so far is complete and utter crap, but I have no desire to restart.

Maybe because I have no other ideas.

Besides, I kinda like my characters, even though they're the awfully unrealistic and not very original.

Reading back on my first five thousand words, it's all not only crap but boring crap. Now going to spend the next forty-three-odd thousand words embracing the crap, and if possible, turning the boring crap into hilariously insane crap. Yay!

I'm in! So far I'm producing all boring, pointless crap. But you know what? I am WRITING. I refuse to get bogged down in my perfectionism that paralyzes me normally. I'm looking at this solely as a volume and persistance and discipline exercise. I LOVE THIS CRAP!!!

That's what happened to mine last year. I ended up with 60,000 words of glorious crap.
I'm fearing mine is going that way againg this year, only maybe a little less crappy.
I will embrace and like it.

I'm totally in. I thought I was doing ok, until I made the fatal mistake of re-reading what I've written to draw inspiration.

Its all complete crap, but I shall embrace it. I can always make it prettier come December. Then, the red ink will flow. *Cackle*

It's all about just writing and getting everything out for me, more so than being a perfect, publishable novel. :D

Yes indeed! I need that traveling shovel of death just to find my feet, it's so deep around here.

I will henceforth solve this problem by not reading anything that I type longer than it takes to put it on the page. It'll still be crap but I won't have the painful experience of reading it until it's time to edit! :)

Shiny new plot (yes, I started over) and I are becoming fast friends. Shiny new plot is sort of continuation of last years suckfest. I've grown to love the crap. Not only have I embraced it, I think I'm going to marry it. ( but don't tell anybody because they would say I was crazy)
