Hi! Sorry if a thread has already been made about this; I looked through the forum and didn't see one.

I'm hosting a write-in on Sunday, November 8th, at a coffee shop in downtown Portsmouth called Breaking New Grounds. It's an awesome place, with wonderful coffee and desserts. There always seem to be a lot of people writing there, too!

Me (Rachel) and my boyfriend Eric (also writing a NaNo novel) will be there by 7:00 PM and will put up a table tent. There aren't many big tables at BNG, but there will hopefully be clusters of tables close to each other so we can all write together.

The café closes at midnight. Feel free to arrive early and put up your own table tent!

Aww, I'm a little sad that there haven't been any replies! I know, I know, it's just the internet, but I was hoping to see some informal RSVPs on here. :) At least I already know that there will be at least two of us there and probably three if a certain friend of mine can make it.

I'd love to know if anyone else reading this is planning to go!

I'm so sorry I missed this! I just joined, am feeling very behind, and would love to attend future write-ins in Portsmouth.

I'll hold another one this week, then! Turns out BNG closes at 10 during non-summer months, but a three-hour sprint is still useful. Does Saturday or Sunday work better for you?

I missed your first announcement! I would love to be there. (Work schedule permitting: right now Sat. and Sun. are both good.)

Either work for me. I've started late and I'm waaaay behind, so I'm anxious to get in some more writing time. As it happens, Breaking New Grounds is my favorite place to write. Just tell me when, and I'll be there.

BNG wasn't the best area ever for the write-in because of electrical socket placement, so the next Portsmouth write-in that I'm hosting will be at Popover's. It starts this Saturday at 6 and will be held at the same time every Saturday for the rest of the month. Hope to see you there!

That sounds great. I love Popovers, but I've never tried writing there. Do they mind us taking up tables for a long time? They do serve dinner.

How will I know you?

I think that if we have a big group, and we all order at least one thing, they won't mind. If they do, we can always relocate to BNG. :)

I'll be at the big table with an official NaNo table tent.

Phooey on your company -- tell 'em to pick up a pen and come along!

I don't know where to send an original post to the group at large, so I will take this opportunity to say: 40,600 words. Good grief.

I will not be able to be there, but I can attest to the awesomeness of BNG. I remember when it first opened, over 10 years ago now, and all I could think was, "FINALLY!!! A decent coffee house!!" Enjoy the write-in!

Erm, I was at Popover's at 6:15 and did not see anyone else. Did the weather scare everyone off?

ElleEs, I am SO sorry. I experienced a break-up yesterday and I couldn't bear the thought of going to the write-in, especially if no one else showed. I had dinner with my family instead Are you going again next week? I definitely am.
