^kind explains it, really..... Tell us the basic plot outline for your novel, if you want and don't forget to check out everyone elses synopsis' and excrepts.
So, I guess I'll start... My novel is about a young girl who grew up with her vampire aunt (Very Jesse/Maharet, I know) who bumps into a stranger while running an errand for her aunt. That stranger turns out to be a werewolf and so we have this crazy plot with kidnapping, murder, dead bodies, past mistakes, bargins & deals, betrayl, love, sex, violence, magic, mysterious villians and a lot of secrets. Hmm. I wonder where this all ends up? I'm less than halfway through writing it and it's already complicated.... Oh well. What do you think?

It's basically your average boy-meets-girl story - a single father of a six-year-old girl (my male MC) meets the woman of his dreams (my female MC) after her car breaks down one morning. The whole story is actually told as a flashback after the grown-up daughter of my male MC asks her stepmum how her dad and stepmum met.

Mines set fourteen years after a series of synchronised terrorist attacks around Australia's major cities, eventually rendering it a 'dead zone' with no contact with the rest of the world. A crazy religious group named the Galearii are trying to purge the world of corruption, and started out with Australia, you see.
It centres around the Highway Man, a mysterious man who can't remember his past, as he wanders around the deteriorating roads of New South Wales. Some towns are functional and prosperous, but most are rundown and decrepit, with many struggling due to the constant grey clouds that cover the country, rendering men impotent and decimating the bird population.
It's less about the plot and more about the characters, though: the Highway Man, wracked with guilt over something he can't remember; Tate, a young smith who wants to go to Wonderland; Wish, a little boy who wants to find a bird for his dad; and Sable, a mysterious woman with a hidden agenda.

my first nanowrimo event, and I'm getting addicted - arrrgh
Synopsis: Krazy Kim?
Kim is badly injured in an incident at school that should never have happened. A teenage boy with a reputation of being an unstoppable force that always gets things done. He has some interesting times and adventures as he sets out to recover from injuries that should have been fatal, and prove the doctors wrong. One way or another, he's determined he'll walk again - if his enemies let him live that long.
This was listed as erotic, with only a little sex, as I intended it to be a teen boy fantasy type story. But the characters disagreed with me, and threatened to go on strike if I didn't make it a straight action story - don't you hate it when your imagination gets pushy.
........
I can't say more without giving too much away - but the moral is 'People can push back - harder than the man.'
update - I'm now seriously thinking about changing the title, does this happen to everyone?

The first NaNo I'm writing, the one I'm working on by myself, is a traditional fairytale with a brave hero, witches, an evil deceiver, a human-turned ogre, a beautiful princess, rule-defying magic, gods and a flying boat. (Not ship. Boat.) The hero was created by the gods to bring balance back to a world riddled with darkness and shadows, and he has to complete many quests. So far all he's managed to do is get embroiled in three quests with no end for any of them in sight. I've still got 30k words to get him there, though!
I'm writing my other NaNo in tandem with two friends, and we're aiming for about 100k. We've each created an MC and we're seeing how they mix up together in a science fantasy world. Two of the MCs are the third's slaves, one willing, the other not so much, and there's political unrest in the society with the impending death of their semi-elected ruler, as well as war and lower class rebellion on the horizon. It's going to be interesting to see what part my MC - a convicted murderer given a chance at redemption (or life-long punishment) through slavery to his victim's niece - will play.
I really like the sound of yours, miguelarose. Very apocalyptic fiction, one of my favourite genres!

Well, I'm not really sure *lol*
It's a kind of fantasy novel with the MC being transported to another world with strange beings.
She also has magical powers that she doesn't know about yet.
There's the required evil meglamaniacal family relative and a love interest with a twist.
There's also some spicy lesbian sex scenes (I wanted to do something different
than your usual female/male spiciness so thought I'd try something new)

Mine is an urban fantasy tale, told from the perspective of two characters:
- Wintar a fey doomed by her sister to become mortal.
- Kaleb, a mortal boy who's life is about to become intertwined with the world of the fey irrevseably.
It starts with Wintar's Mother dying and passing the crown to her, however during this process her sister steals it using a plan formualted by her Father - The King of the Autumn Court (see excerpt). Wintar is then forcefully thrown onto the streets of New York where she meets the mortalised fey, others who have been rejected by their courts. They discover that there is much more to the plan Temptation (Wintar's sister) holds, she intends to take two crowns and begin all out war destroying the Spring and Summer Courts. Wintar is the only other whom can take back the throne however without permission she cannot gain acsess to the Courts and remains trapped within the mortal world.
Kaleb meanwhile is struggling to come to terms with the loss of his friend and lifelong love Anna. It is revealed by the ghost of Anna (My faeries can see ghosts) that he is to play a large role in shaping the new world, however it is unknown to him how this is to play out. It is after the return of his Mother and Sister who abandoned Kaleb and his Father ten years prior to the begining of the story they he is half faery, hence his eye colour and ability to see ghosts. It is revealed that his sister has met the exiled Queen of the Winter Court and that he is to stay away from her at all costs.
Forbidden love blossoms, but it is unknown to either of the characters what the other is. An enemy, a person to fear. But love can still survive this. But this love comes at a cost. Neither know that the other is a faery and when all is revealed they must choose what they want for their people, both being monarchs, over what they desire.

In a nutshell.
It's a zombie apocalypse, though it doesn't have your run in the mill "human condition conquers all" plot. It focuses on a vampire and his "not too human" human servant. Rather than having daylight sparkly vegetarians as well, the main character is a blood thirsty, sunlight crispy predator who has to pull all the stops to stay alive (in a manner of speaking). His human servant is a broken victim of humanity's cruelty who finds comfort and eventual strength in the inhumanity of her master. Throw in the constant hunger for blood, the daylight hours, human raiders as well as paranoid and stupid common folks, zombies are the least of their problems.
Can our two main characters survive it all to find a human settlement for them to survive in? Well...only one way to find out.

Everyone's stories sound amazing and I'd love to read them all. Especially the post apocolyptic one set in Australia, Kami's and the gods in highschool. I think i'll go read everyones synopsis now.

Contrary to Miguelarose's apocalyptic setting, mine's not set in Australia. It's not really set anywhere. I had so little time to do research on locations that I opted for a more vague (if not colourful) description on places. Save for the town in which they start off with, all the other cities, towns and landmarks have no name. I hope it would spur the reader's imagination somehow.
