Hello everyone!
As some of you know, I run a Creative Writing Group in the CBD once a month. Our next meeting us coming up this week.
The details are:
On: Friday 13th November, 5:30pm - 6:45pm
At: American Bookstore, Elizabeth Street, Brisbane CBD
Bring: Paper and a pen
Everyone is welcome, so feel free to come along! We won't be doing NaNo-related stuff - this is a chance to take a break from the novelling. We usually do a mix of writing exercises, workshopping, talks, author talks, and tutorials. This month, we'll be doing an exercise or two, flexing our pens and hopefully having some fun.
Afterwards, a group of us usually heads somewhere for dinner to chill out and chat. You're all welcome to join us for that too!
If anyone would like to go onto the mailing list for the group, PM me your email address and I'll add it. Hope to see you all there on Friday!

The more I think about it, the more I want to :) One question: laptop friendly?

Hmm, I think you can plug in if you can find a socket. I don't think the bookstore will mind - I'm fairly sure they've allowed it before with no problems. I certainly don't mind you bringing laptops. The group runs for a little over an hour, so you might not need to plug in at all (depending on your laptop). I will be making you write stuff down, even if it's just notes!
See you there! :)

Ok, so I'm thinking I might pop along to one, one time.. just a question though, I'll be catching public transport and don't really know the city well so is it easy to get to from like a bus stop or anything?

There are bus stops on Elizabeth Street, just up from the bookstore! I don't know what buses service it (or which one you might be catching), but it's only a short walk from any of the CBD stops. George Square, Queen Street and Adelaide Street are all very close. It's also only a short walk from Central Station (for trains).
If you're not familiar with the CBD, hop onto the American Bookstore site and check out their map - easiest way. http://www.americanbookstore.com.au Or Google maps, of course.
If you get into the city and aren't sure, feel free to give me a call and I'll direct you. My number's on the regional email!
