We all have them, that one character in our story that whether by design or happy accident is just AWESOME. Fun to write, very cool, just so amazing you have to tell everyone you know about em! Post your answers here!
Mine is the protagonist, she's Half Fairy, Half Vampire, angry teen age girl with goth leanings and an attitude not to mention some serious power and skills. She's also the "Prophesied One" destined to bring together the Fae and other otherworldly creatures living our thier lives hiding in plain sight here all over the world current day.
Her name? Philomina Opalescyant Lillis Aphrodite Roswyn Seren. Just don't ever call her that. Its Phil, just Phil. She's not mine, she sprang from the mind of my BFF and when she told me of her and the book's basic premise, I just HAD to tell her story (fortunately BFF not only doesn't mind but is happy I'm finally bringing her creation to life) and Phil is in a word awesome!
Share, who is just the most interesting or fun or useful person you've created for this years novel?

Somehow my 13,000 have only procured 4 solid characters, and their all pretty boring so far! (Although, within the last couple of pages I've introduced one character's mother and another character's horse as well...)
My two main characters are actually ones that I've used in stories before, for a whole different arc of storytelling, but then I decided to completely cut off that part of my stuff that I was writing. Sooo I'm bringing them back, tweaking their world a little, and making a whole new story out of it.
One of the characters I plan to reintroduce is basically a promiscuous, shamanistic woman who wears bright, bright colors all of the time and is always drinking. Another one is basically, to try and summarize her a bit, is an alien angel, who in this particular story some how has gotten into steampunk xD
But as of right now, all I have are the four current characters, a mom, and a horse. The horse is pretty cool though. He's gray.

I have to say that I'm particularly fond of one of the protagonists (one of ten D: I need to cut one, but I can't bring myself to do it).
He's a doctor, widowed three years before from a drug trial that took his children and wife. A lover of expensive coffee (aren't we all?) who likes to snowboard on the side. I think he's just overly loveable though. <3

Personally I like my main character the best, because he's kind of based on me. xD
I mean, he has plenty of his faults (just like me....) but he's so easy to write about because he's like me!!
and another character I have, her name is Sophia, and she's kind of annoying. So I don't really like her that much, but she's really fun to write about!!! :D

I love all my characters! How could I not? They are my children. Freya Quinn is most like me. She is approaching 60 and is very social but she loves to be alone. Then there's Danny, 40ish, a happily married man with two wonderful daughters (who call themselves Maya and Inca). Ross is 17 and he is running away from an abusive step-father, but must return home to protect his mother. Louise is a 14 year old juvenile delinquint whose mother is a prostitute. John-Christian Carter is 20. He lives with his grandmother and is a a kind a gentle young man. Olive is 50 and has Downs Syndrome. She lives with her Aunt Agnes and helps out in the laundromat, folding clothes and showing people how to work the washing machines. Hayden is a 30-something house wife who is taken advantage of by her husband and children. Jaminn is seven and he has a twin brother named leon. Last, but not least, is Rosario who is two years old. The story is about the morning when every one in the world simply disappears - except Freya, Danny, Ross, Louise, John-Christian, Olive, Hayden, Jaminn, and Rosario. During the course of a year they find each other (some sooner rather than later) and form a community. All except Freya, who doesn't find the others until the last chapter. Poor Freya.

Hmm. It's terribly hard to pick one. I like them all for different reasons. Well, no, I take that back - I don't like them all. I adore some of them and I love to loathe some of them and one is essential even though I have no feelings toward her whatsoever.
I shan't name names on who is my favourite and who isn't, because half of my characters are based on people I have known in life, and the other half are based on mythological divine archetypal standards, and I wouldn't want to peeve either category. Especially since one of my characters is the embodiment of Time. If there's one force in the universe I don't want to upset right now, it's Time!
Your characters sound fabulous, everyone. I would love to read some of these manuscripts. I'm fascinated already. Is anyone keen on beta-reading / writers' circles when all of this is over? It could be a fun way to get our social lives back on track while remaining true to the product of our efforts. =)

I just turned the silent henpecked uncle in my story into a Vietnam veteran who participated in horrible war crimes. He's my favorite, even though I don't like him so much. But neither does he like himself, and I'm going to try to redeem him at the end of the story, so there you go.
