Excerpt: Finding Che Guevara/ Something About Snow White
Finding Che Guevara:
We stepped out the restaurant and as we headed to the cab near the Promenade the beautiful Cuban sunset of red, gold, and orange streaked across the sky, it looked like a painter had dipped his brush and created this elegant picture. The sunset illuminated the statue of Poseidon giving it a lifelike appearance. I could see on Che’s face as he was looking out over the bay. The warm breeze blowing across the Promenade and the waves lightly dancing across the top of the water and bouncing off the seawall, his face had the far away expression as he remembered the Havana of so many years ago. I could see the tears in the corners of his eyes and I knew this was likely where he would stay, when it was time for us to leave.
We climbed into Harry Andres cab and as we headed towards his parents place we passed the elegant homes where the wealthy Cuban’s had lived before the revolution. Harry Andres informed us that foreign companies now owned many of these homes and their staff and their families lived in these houses.
Something ABout Snow White:
Suddenly he felt something nudge him, his hand touched something that was almost like sandpaper. It bumped him again and then as he turned his head the last thing he saw was the pointed torpedo shaped body as the jaws opened and he saw the teeth coming toward his torso. It was like he was dreaming, as the teeth clamped into his body he really didn't feel the pain, it was nothing like what he had felt earlier. Then it came at him again and he smiled it was better to be food for a Porbeagle shark than raped to death by a huge man.
As the jaws closed about him one last time Tim gurgled out “thank you” as everything went black. It would be days if not months before some of his body parts washed up on shore.
